the problem with t4 is the loltankgear
both items are outdated with soldiery tomes
change it up to a greed party and i join those as tank for the loots/mount

As a WAR that's fairly new to endgame (i69 atm) I've pretty much given up on DF. I run pretty much everything with my FC now. It's slowing my progress a little but I actually have fun. The about 25% of the time the DF drops you in with a complete db is a headache I'm not missing.
I stopped doing T4 on tank, getting abused by players telling you you can't tank when the healer and DPS run away with the add on them is pretty old.I'm trying to do Turn 4 of Bahamut & it's impossible to find a group. I main as a Warrior iLV90 but I'm currently playing my iLV78 White Mage trying to get Allagan Chest for it & Party Finder or Duty Finder, it's taking WAAYYY too long to find a Tank.
This is why I play Tank & I would play Tank to get my White Mage drops but obviously if a Healer NEEDS I'm SOL. So yeahh. What can SE do to fix the lack of Tanks? I feel like I'm an endangered species here.
.
I refuse to tank T4 when the population trying to queue for it is the way it is. If more people rolled tank and queued as 50 tank then maybe it might be better.
I got my alt warrior to lvl 50 before 2.2 dropped. I really enjoyed it at first but the constant badgering from people quickly turned me off. Didn't matter if it was my first run through a particular dungeon, they still complained that they could do better. There were a few times I got into a cool, laid back group but that was rare. The problem is elitist pricks trolling DF expecting speed runs or il90+ geared groups. I'm sticking to DPS. It may be a thankless roll but it beats being under a microscope.
Just to answer to the author. The Tanks are underplayed but if you don't see a lot of them on T4 it's because the loots on this turn are kinda worst than the myth ones![]()
for the vanity sake, it can work but pug T4.....I might consider do it as PF at best where I can get some ppl I know into the fight
I think the problem with tanking and the lack of tanks in this game isn't the fact that tanks are hard to play but rather the fact that a lot of knowledge about game mechanics and other classes is required to truly excel at tanking.
Knowing the dungeon, knowing the abilities your healers have and how they supplement you as a tank, knowing the cooldowns and abilities of your dps, the attacks your enemy does, etc. etc.
That often is very intimidating for newer players or people who decide to pick up tanking.
The impatience of the playerbase to cut new tanks some slack and help them get used to the necessary knowledge and information input doesn't exactly help the situation![]()
and i would add 1 more thing ...
go full str for 1-49
tanks loosing aggro are ones following stupid vitality guides
with vitality build you doesn't have enough str and acc to keep anything on you
even paladins can just spam flash till mana runs out and then keep building it back up with, what was it ? riot blade ?
That and the fact that, because many players don't like playing tanks, most tanks already have most of the equipment that drops from T4 and don't need it anymore.
And you can always have some **** in a greed party who uses need instead, then leaves.
Btw. some of the tanks I had in Coil and dungeon runs...just wow.
I wonder how they managed to even get there.
I remember a tank with Allagan Blade who was unable to silence ADS in T1, and lost hate on Caduceus.
Another overequipped tank couldn't handle Titan HM, or how about a tank who turns the boss into the group and kills the healers?
