FC Housing is meant to be expensive because of the fact that not 1 person but the FC should come together to reach that goal for the house. Personal housing is meant to be well..personal lol. so naturally that cost will be much less.

Ment to be expensive? Or cater to the 1%? Small houses are 2-3 mill (non legacy) which a single person can farm up with little effort in a month or two.

MED and LRG houses are severely priced out of range. The gap between SML and MED is just insane.

Umm.... considering that if you completed every challenge in your challenge log each week, that alone would net you a little over 50K a week, it's really not that hard for a small group of people to raise the funds for a Medium House. Yes, a Large house would take longer (or more people)...but it should take longer.

14.8 Mil is the cheapest Medium house on my server.

10 People only donating a completed Challege Log of gil earnings each week = 50Kx10=500K a week. This isn't money from anthing other than the challenge log.
At even this rate, you could buy the cheapest Medium Lot in about 30 weeks....by doing nothing out of the ordinary, grinding nothing, selling nothing, farming nothing etc. And I am going to assume people would actually work a little harder than that for a house they want.

1 month for 1 million (there are already enough gil sources outside of the MB for it)
M house for M guild (~ 18 members ) = ~1 million from each member
L house for L guild (~50 members) = ~1 million from each member

Free Company Housing is like a ghost town in Legacy servers before the price dropped.

Because people knew that it would drop after Yoshida wrote about it end of december. Why buy a large hose for 350m if you can get it for 50m after the planned price fall?

Neverless, the prices were so high at the beginning so that the plots are not sold out during the first 2 weeks. Now that the prices dropped the plots got sold out in a rapid speed on legacy servers.

This isn't something you're going to achieve on your own.

A large FC will be able to purchase a large house with ease, if you consider FC's with 100-300 members, if each chipped in between 50-100,000 the house would be a simple easy purchase.

When they were first released, Large plots were 628,000,000 on some servers. That didn't include the house, only the plot.
