    /reply command needs improvement

So, I'm sure most of you have realized that in this game, when you type "/r" to reply to the last received /tell, the game includes messages you may have received from people on your blacklist. While the /tell you received was never shown in your chat box, the system still acknowledges the communication attempt, and sets /r to reply to the person on your blacklist. You are unable to see the name of the person you are sending the message to until you press ENTER, when an error message pops up to inform you that your last /tell was a RMT spammer on your blacklist.

Now, you can also use ALT + R to cycle through your past communications and find the name of the specific friend you want to chat with, but you will need to do this for every individual message, sometimes skimming through 2 or 3 RMT spammer names to find the person you are currently having a conversation with.

I'm REALLY getting tired of this. Unlike other games, the "/tell Person's Name" doesn't stay as the default in your chatbox between messages, so every conversation must be filled with /r and ALT+R presses, while constantly weeding through the RMT spammer names.

Is there any way we can actually IGNORE someone and never deal with them again? Must I deal with Dsdfdsf Sgdfd and his buddy Fdsgs Gsgsdf everytime I want to communicate with a friend? Surely there must be a fix SE could apply so that /tell from blacklisted players don't show up in our reply category?

I've always just used the alt + R, I guess I could see it being a problem if you are in the habit of starting chat with /.

Alt + R will show the name of the person you want to reply to and you can cycle back through them by pressing it multiple times.

Yeah, I realize how Alt +R works, and it's a good way to make sure you are sending the message to the correct person. I've adapted to using it most of the time, but I still have to shift through the RMT spammers, checking to make sure that each individual message is going to the same person that my previous 6 messages went to. But why is the extra effort on my part even necessary? I have already indicated to the chat system that I do not want to communicate with a person, yet I continue to see their name several times per minute.

I took a break from the game for a few weeks, and just returned this morning. After logging in, I started to chat with an old guildmate about their progress the last few weeks. During a ten minute conversation, I was encountering an error message almost every time I used /r. When I started using Alt+R to shift through the names, I found myself skipping past the same three RMT names each time, despite the fact we were having a fast paced conversation. It became so absurd that I started browsing the forums to see if the issue has been discussed before.

It's as if because people can get by, they're ok with it. Obviously, the proper use of alt+r is not the point of the thread. OP is right, this is stupid and should be fixed.

The problem with the Alt + R is the name lists aren't cleared when you logged out.

It's annoying how many unknown RMT spams that PM'd you in X day and you can't even get rid of them.

Yeah, this seems like it should be a simple fix to implement.

A list of people who have most recently sent you a tell is obviously kept and saved somewhere on the client for use with alt+R, so all that would need to be done is to have a name automatically removed from the list if it is blacklisted.

You'd be surprised what is and isn't easy to fix when it come to coding.

It seems the blacklist is on the your side not the person you are trying to blacklist ..

So instead of the person not being able to send the message, they are sending it as normal and it just isn't being displayed at your end.

It's one of those bizarre SE what are you doing things, wouldn't surprise me if they did it this way because they can't program it the other way due to some oversight when the chat system was designed. (tells in dungeons for example)

Well at least you solved your own problem in your post about said problem, so there's that.

/r or /reply is bad, very bad, and I'd really hope that people who say they use it are joking about it because it's just that bad.
