Extrapolating one part of the game to the entire design philosophy is facetious at best, trolling at worst.

Really? What is your evidence?
Food for thought, on a quick look through past dev posts on the topic of relics:
The problem with the "super simple to obtain" part in particular is that RNG does not make Atma weapons harder to get, or take longer. It makes them take a completely random length of time. That's not good design. If they wanted Atma weapons to take perseverance and determination and time to obtain, they could easily just make it a case of "do all of these things which take a certain length of time to achieve" or even just slap an arbitrary "do this FATE x number of times" on it, but instead they use an RNG. RNGs are a stupid way of rewarding players. It's not rewarding skill, it's just rewarding luck, regardless of what you've had to do to get there. It's making the player's skill or lack thereof a completely irrelevant factor because whether you did good or bad, you're completely at the whims of something that is by its very literal definition completely random.
They should make Atma farming a "earn so many FATE ranking points" instead. At least that way your performance in the FATE is actually being measured and you're encouraging players to try
How is this new? Getting Darklight didn't take skill, just grinding for Tomes.
A Weathered Yagrush (WHM) doesn't take skill, grinding tomes and it is equal to the Animus (slightly differing stats.)
There's many things in this game that do not take skill, the high end stuff takes some skill and coordination. (High Allagan)
And you could even argue that getting the High Allagan gear is RNG since it's not a guaranteed drop.
You are trying to claim the sky is falling, when really, the sky has been the same the whole time.

The point was it takes more than just a simple Tome grind.
Also, about your other post, quote the whole thing, not the last line. He makes it clear that raid drops will be above Relics. So unless they want to drop the "best" upgrade for it behind the hardest raid, it's not happening.
Q: Compared to primal weapons and relic weapons, how strong are you planning to make the weapons from Crystal Tower and the Great Labyrinth of Bahamut?
A: *Art of new rewards are shown in the video.
Since there were so many weapon drops from primals in 1.0 we tried hard to make some armor as well. That's not to say that they will come from primals, but we've worked hard to make full sets of gear for various fights.
For weapons, the strongest items will be those dropped from the Great Labyrinth of Bahamut, and we have a created a clear path for progression through content and gear. When you're level 50 you can clear a scenario and go after a good primal weapon. Once you have that, you can challenge the Crystal Tower, and get items from there. After that, challenge the Great Labyrinth of Bahamut. The difficulty of content and the strength of items will follow this order, going up and up. Both primal weapons and relics will have their own place in this hierarchy, and primal weapons are not at the top.
