You... HAVE played mmos for awhile, yes? Such a tactic, withholding comment until it is truly needed. This is extremely common for MMO devs to do.
And is it really needed? Many of us wholeheartedly disagree.
Disagreements with devs is not grounds for their need to cater to your demands.
Sitting in a zone for hours on end doing the same mindless FATE's isn't hard. It's a lazy attempt to make the world seem more alive to draw in and retain the PS4/Chinese player base. It's a bait and switch strategy without any forethought. This has cash grab written all over it.
Because enough customers have said the same thing and have requested a response. It's called empathy and acknowledgement of the issue (even if there isn't one). CS/Marketing 101.
196 page thread about it is considered "not really important"? It doesn't matter if it is or isn't. Obviously there are quite a few people asking for transparency and they aren't getting it which is leading to frustration. Empathy. Acknowledgement. Resolution.
Don't bank on it. SE has been historically known to ninja patch, but these changes are almost never in favor of the player base.
At least when Tanaka shafted you he gave you the courtesy of trying to pull the sleight of hand trick. Now it's like they're so lazy they even bother trying to hide it and operate under the impression that we're all too stupid to figure out what the angle is.
If SE is going to lie to me, I only ask that they make it somewhat entertaining or creative.
Who's asking them to cater... asking them to respond whether good news or bad, and fairly I believe (and do many others who are of the opposite mind to those who "wholeheartedly disagree" in your camp).
Also, just because a precedent of behavior is set amongst developers... it doesn't mean they 'ought' or that it's a healthy pattern (not saying that you're insinuating that, by any means).
I suppose my point is that commonplace shouldn't dictate SE's unique relationship with THEIR playerbase.
woot i have 8 atma! i'm almost there. just 100 more atma to go to finish all my jobs! fun stuff
lol whoever you "heard" about the changes from, was pulling your leg, there has been no changes to atma droprates at all, your luck just turned around is all
And still not many have the willpower and patience to finish this part.
I think it is like holding a bucket with a outstretched arm. Doing it for 2 minutes is easy. Doing it for 30 minutes is hard.
Focus your willpower to 1 job. Don't spread it thin about the over jobs.

You would have a point if it wasn't for this:
I know some of our players have been looking forward to the continuation of the Zodiac Weapons quests that I mentioned in the recent letter LIVE, but the release of these new quests has been postponed. Our reasoning for this decision is, in brief:
Many players still have yet to obtain an Animus weapon.
We would like to incorporate feedback regarding the difficulty of the Zodiac Weapon quests.
We are working to increase the number of locations where materials for the next upgrade can be obtained.
People are waiting to move on to the next quest, yet are being held back from any progression due to the above. When the premise is that many players will not obtain a weapon by 2.25, and then are told it is being held back for this very reason, does that not raise some red flags? It was important enough to halt and push back a considerable piece of progression, yet that's not really important? What flavor is that Kool-Aid? There is nothing wrong with transparency. When Yoshi-P posts a letter, it is going to be scrutinized.
