Three DPS using Duty Finder?

So I just queued up for Toto-Rak to get some levels on my archer.. waited awhile and an in progress instance popped up. After I join I found that the tank had left at the beginning of the run (whole different problem). After having everyone else leave but me (I refuse to leave a dungeon anymore ever since an instance where I was the last one to leave and it still kept putting people into the dungeon because the other dps were joining and leaving at too high of a rate to close the instance)

I figure I'm going to just try to kill stuff on my own until 15 minutes in where I can abandon. As i'm doing this another dps (bard) joined in, to which I vented my frustration about people leaving before the abandon timer was up just causing more people to come and go. We killed stuff until the time where we could abandon. I asked if they would like to abandon now, to which they said we might as well wait.

We waited and just kept killing stuff when, to everyone's surprise, an arcanist shows up. That makes an Archer, a Bard, and an Arcainist.. We proceded to do the first boss with little trouble. Before too long, a Scholar joined. After noticing we had no tank, he quickly left. When the replenish screen popped up, it had the tank and healer icons, as if it was going to get either of those or both, even though we had 3 dps.. Before the second boss we finally got a marauder to join, yay! We breezed through the rest of the dungeon with 3 DPS and 1 Tank.

Has this happened to anyone else before? Since when does DF pair up three DPS? I'm thinking this is a bug but I was wondering if anyone else has experienced this?

Could be the ambiguity of the Arcanist role. Who knows...? Maybe the ACN had queued as a SCH but dropped back to ACN for solo-hunting, when the Duty popped?

I did a Halatali run back in October where our CNJ quit after the first pull, and we finished the entire run with just 3 people. Me as GLD; a sync'd BRD, and the Arcanist dual-role as DPS *and* Healing the whole way!

They would have been forced to switch back to Scholar.

Oh wow, that's crazy. That might have been what happened here except it didn't find any healers to give us before we finished. I am just thankful it was an arcanist that it gave us because of their versatility.

This happened to me on a guild heist it was the one where you fight the giant toad and adds break through the wall?

It was me as arcanist / healer / 2 dps. Pulled out yellow carby and....we won. But would put this down as a glitch, like someone said having 5 people in a party once did Siren run with 3 dps. Turned out very well.
