    Additional classes?

Hi, I want to ask when you open the Actions and Traits tab, there is a column which show "Additional 0/3". It must mean that you can learn skill from other jobs right? So, how can you do that? I follow some Youtuber and he said to go and talk with Guild Recipient of the job that you want. However, all you have is change the job when you change your weapon, not the additional one. Does anyone know how to do it? or the game haven't finished this option yet?

Those are slots for cross-class skills. In order to use cross-class skills, you need to level another class to the appropriate level. For example, to use Foresight (a level 2 Marauder skill) on your Gladiator, you need to level Marauder to level 2. Then, when you switch back to Gladiator, you can click on the Marauder symbol (the axe) under Additional skills, and click the checkbox next to Foresight. This will add Foresight to the list of boxes at the bottom of the window under the Addition skills section. From those boxes, you can then add Foresight to your Gladiator action bars.

You can USE abilities from other classes that you have leveled up. This is where you select which abilities you want to use and currently you can select a maximum of 3 which will raise to 10 when you are level 50. If you are on a job then you can only use 5 abilities from 3 specific classes based on which job you are on. So to get more abilities you need to switch class and level it up until it has a learned an ability that can be cross classes (not all of them can ve used on other classes) then you can select this ability on your other classes.

You change to the other job, then level it up to gain abilities exactly as you did on your first class. As you level, some abilities will list other classes that can use them. Once you have some abilities that can be used by your first class, change back to it and on the actions menu click the icon for the second class. You'll then be able to select abilities from the second class. As stated before though, only certain abilities may be used cross-class.

Yes, that "Additional 0/3" refers to cross-class skills. It means that currently you have the ability to set up to three cross-class skills and currently don't have any selected.

    To get cross-class skills:

    1) You need to actually have other classes with crossable skills. It looks on Lodestone like you currently have GLD at level 16 and LNC unlocked but still at level 1. (Not sure how up-to-date that is, but it's good enough for discussion purposes. I'll use those for my examples.) You unlock new classes by doing a quick quest at their class guild, just as you did at the lancer guild. Then you can equip their weapon to become that class.

Now to the part about needing crossable skills. Not all skills can be cross-classed. The first LNC skill that can be cross-classed is Feint, which you get at level 2. Each skill says on its tooltip which classes can use it. For instance, True Thrust, your first LNC skill, lists "LNC DRG" meaning only lancers and dragoons can use it. It cannot be cross-classed to anything else. On the other hand, when you get Feint, its tooltip lists "GLA PGL MRD LNC ARC MNK BRD", meaning it can be used with any of those classes (though it would take up a cross-class slot for any except lancer and dragoon). So, to see how cross-classing works, become a lancer briefly and level it to level 2 so you can get the Feint skill.

    2) Once you have cross-class-able skills, you need to assign them to one of your slots. So, once you unlock Feint on LNC, switch back to GLD (i.e. re-equip your sword). As GLD, go to the Actions and Traits tab, where that "Additional 0/3" shows up. Now that you have a cross-class-able LNC skill, the LNC icon just below it should be highlighted as available. Select the LNC icon and the pane on the right will list cross-class-able LNC skills you have unlocked (which at this point will just be that Feint skill) with checkboxes by them. Checking this box indicates you want to cross-class the skill.

Once you check that check-box, the skill will show up at the bottom of the window, in the lower part of the right-hand pane. This is where it shows all your currently assigned cross-class skills for your current class. Go down to that part of the window and right-click on the icon (if keyboard/mouse) or select it and press square button (if controller) and you'll get a menu that allows you to set the skill to your hotbar. Then just choose a hotbar slot for it.

    3) At this point, you'd have a GLD with the LNC skill Feint available.

Now, I used that as an example just because it's the first cross-class capable skill on a class you appear to have unlocked already. It's not necessarily the most useful for a GLD. But any others work the same way. You need the class that provides the skill leveled up enough to use it. Then you need to assign that skill to a slot on the other class that you want to give access to the skill.

It wasn't until recently that someone told me the order you click the cross skills is important. The first one you click is always available no matter the dungeon level. So put the most used in the first and second slot.

Can someone tell me, I've learnt cure from my lvl 2 conjurer onto my lvl 23 marauder. Does the spell power go by the conjurers stats or the marauders, as marauder has higher mind stats but heals for less. just looking into trying to make it a bit more powerful as I ended up doing a ton of fates solo and was sick of wasting hi potions

Unfortunately Cure indeed looses it's potency when it's used by another class - MND has a lot to do with it, but also CNJ does get traits that also boost healing skill specifically for that class, meaning as you increase in level Cure will actually appear to get worse healing wise. You could try boosting your MND stats with items or equipment, but it wouldn't really help too much I'd imagine.

Try also equipping the ability Convalescence from GLA as that boosts the power of healing spells cast on you by a fair amount while the buff is active (again, GLA gets a trait that increases the potency this ability gives, so cross classed it's not as effective), but every little bit helps.

Thanks, it did help with some of my other classes on the earlier levels so I could ramp up the levequest difficulty all the way but once you get to lvl 5 onwards, its not much use
