I did actually.
But the main point of this thread is to offer feedback that it is not fun.
This would be a very refreshing and welcome change.

It would have been fine if it was 50-100 FATE per Zone, then people would know they are making progress. Versus an abysmal amount for a single FATE... Still would suck being FATE, but at least it would progress.

Well, you can all rest assured - there was once some game out there somewhere which was much worse. That should make you feel better about this whole thing!
After all - no matter how terrible things get, you should always just take what is given to you and keep quiet... because it can always be worse. Right?

On a serious note about this, games like WKC2 had some terribad RNG... But I pushed through that. Why? Cause it was actually fun. But hey, fun doesn't matter in vidyuh games!Well, you can all rest assured - there was once some game out there somewhere which was much worse. Here is what I think is wrong with the ATMA system: ( Cause/Solution)
Problem: FATE's are attached to them, FATEs are okay for certain things, End game related things are not.
Solution: Use a long quest for EACH ATMA ( You can use the same NPC if you want to. After the quest is done go back the NPC show him the ATMA you got, and then you keep it as a quest reward. ( So 12 quests, complete them all to receive the Atma Weapon.
The second portion of the Zodiac Quest is fine as you always know you are "progressing" for every objective you do.

I really was expecting actual trials like Chimera and Hydra when reading the initial quest log. That would be a VERY fun alternative. My hopes were crushed when I read I had to do fates. Crushed further when I learned it was RNG. Crushed even further when I learned it was a low drop rate. Now, crushed to the point of making a thread when it's been weeks and I still have no Atma - in hopes that they change it. Which is the only shred of hope I have left for getting my Atma weapons.
That does not work, sorry. Tested a few thousand gil worth of teleports to try.Yup too afraid too post on my other characters. Nailed it. This is nothing about luck. You put in the time to get the item. If it doesn't drop in one zone in 30 minutes, switch and you should get one within 10. Do the time or stop complaining as there is nothing wrong with the system currently. I just really don't know what to tell you at this point that you won't nitpick and try to find a flaw where none exists.

I mean I honestly didn't mind it being an RNG grind I think in total I did around 700 FATEs so I had pretty good luck. I can understand why some might want it to be shifted over to a linear progression and I certainly agree that having it be FATEs is just really lame. Though I kind of like to see sort of insurmountably difficult content. I think making it part of the relic line freaked people out a bit but given that there's a planned nerf in 2.25 I don't know what's the problem in just waiting for that rather than expending all this energy dually farming about it and arguing on the forums.
As far as the person saying the only real solution is to put in more hours ... well they're not wrong. Though I don't see why you're engaging in a back and forth with them.

You have to factor in things like the server you are on as well. My server is pretty high pop when people were doing fates they were dying really fast. That was a lot more chances per hour for atma due to the number of fates getting beaten. If you are on a lower pop server they may take a lot longer to kill and thus less chances at atmas.

Yeah I tended to get lucky in higher level zones and ended up getting very fast FATE kills when I was doing the lower level stuff. I didn't really think of Coeurl as a high pop server but I guess I ended up picking the right times to farm, luckily. You have to factor in things like the server you are on as well.
