HUD Transparency Options

I would like to request the ability to make any part of the HUD transparent, or more accurately, a degree of transparency.

I primarily play on PS4/PS3 and play for long periods of time, and having the Cross Hot bar, Chat Log, Server Info, and Mini Map always on my TV screen makes it a prime candidate for burn-in. To combat this I sometimes move elements of the HUD around so as not to leave them in a static spot, but this is not optimal since it means messing with my HUD preferred positions.

I would be great if, as is with the current map, you could adjust the levels of transparency for each element of the HUD. It doesn't even have to have a slider, I would be ok with %'s similar to the current HUD resizing function.

Please implement this, as it would be a very helpful feature for those that game on TV's.

As a person who uses a plasma tv for gaming, i would also like to have this as a option. A way to adjust the whole HUD transparency would be great! I had a minor image retention from the chat screen after playing couple hours.

I agree this would be a nice option. As a keyboard and mouse user on the PS4 it would be nice to have fade times on windows also.

So for instance you can set the normal opacity, the faded opacity, and the number of seconds until it fade when it is not active or moused over.

Nothing is worse than burning an image into your HDTV! Please help us combat this issue!

Does anyone else have trouble reading the text in this game? I'm playing on a 52" tv with the font size at maximum, and we still have to sit close to read anything. There is soooo much info on the screen, it would be great to be able to customize font size with more drastic results.

this is a must have. i personally play on a plasma 52" HDTV too. the biggest problem is the party list and chat log. the XHB is not too much of an issue. because it is constantly changing sizes while you use it. and you can always hide it with an option in the menu somewhere, if you don't plan to use it for an extended period of time.

but yeah... image retention is a huge issue for plasma TV owners. and maybe even some LCD users too.

so along with the transparency idea, i would like to throw out another thread. auto-hide chat log.


and also, about the Text/Font Size. i agree there too. some of the text in the game is too small on the PS4. also some UI elements are too small too. like inventories. the item icons in my inventory and such. i wish they could be bigger.

You can set an option to where the Crossbar will fade away.... Could also hit L1+ Touchpad to make HUD disappear, or make macros to turn off HUD elements (I do this for the duty list) but its a temporary fix. Would love to see this also.

It would be nice if the chatbox fade out if no new text show up in it after a while, like how it was during 1.0

And there should be a function that turn off the crosshotbar during passive mode only, like it also was with the 1.0 skillbar. The current function turn it off in passive and active mode. But I would want to see the crosshotbar during active mode and want it be off only during passive mode.

I just started playing this month, and I've already got considerable burn-in on my prized plasma TV. Please, someone at Square that might be reading this, include a full HUD transparency option. Turning off my HUD when I don't need it is an okay stopgap solution, but it also is constantly taking me out of the game.

A transparency option would help immensely!

Necrobumping this, any word on a transparency % option for HUD? I play on PC with a controller. Not so much an issue of burn in. I have several hotbars on my screen to know when stuff is off cooldown so i am not looking down at the crossbar all the time , however this does clutter up the screen and sometimes makes it hard to see.
