Well tbh.. a huge surge of new people just came on to the Besaid server so people are hearing about the Radical changes and are starting to pick up the playbase rate I recruited like 5 new members already from that batchi hear what your saying but honestly we can afford to listen to the trashing because honestly it is never going to go away. However, this game can not afford to lose subscribers no matter who they are. We need to sit back and take the negitive posts with a grain of salt and hope that SE can deliver and can be in a state of charging and growing. What we cant do is wishing for people to leave an already withered player base.
Thats great thats the kinda stuff i like to hear. Retention is my worry but thats neither here nor there. Chocobos ftw and lets see this game grow!
Airships....Chocobos.... Dungeons..... Grand Companies (missions).....Jobs.....Materia System.....Primal Battles.....Fatigue Gone....Physical Levels gone....
Going to repost this here 'cause I'm a narcissistic asshole(but seriously, just think about it):
Maybe this would be the gateway into adding airborne or island/underwater content. Maybe you'd need a few flying birds to access land that is otherwise unsuited for airship travel, or travel across bodies of water that large objects like ships can't make it through. Maybe dungeons could be accessed this way. They could also create various paths through places, and in order to access alternate routes, you might need chocobos to jump over cliffs or large downed trees or whatever.
...Now that I think of it, a "stamina" meter for chocobos(think of the carrot meter from Ocarina of TIme and such) might be conducive to some interesting racing environments. If you sprint with your bird or leap over an obstacle, the gauge is reduced greatly, while running at reasonable pace would recover the gauge. This might also be good for general traversal to prevent people from going apeshit with it.
Assuming that Yoshida is able to have chocobos combat ready, that might also be an interesting combat mechanic. Say when the stamina gauge is full, you can use like a "choco-charge" attack or maybe different types of abilities based on chocobo type, kind of like the limit breaks for your Wyvern as a Dragoon in FFXI worked. That would add some variety I think.
...I just had an idea sugar shock... >.>
I sort of though they took long time to implement because this "new purpose" was being worked on.
Apparently they were just working on these dungeons then or something. I guess there's not that much behind the scenes being worked on and this is the pace they're going to be adding new things to the game.
While I'm happy to have even the bare bones of a battle system and chocobos I fear the current playerbase will burn through whatever content SE will be dishing out in few days and then wait for another 6 months for new additions.
Well it's all just speculation born out of waiting. When do you think it will be officially acceptable to announce one thinks SE is moving really slowly with simple systems? Presonally I felt a bit bad when a free-to play Spiral Knights got an AH within weeks of release and here we are looking at SE trying to make the MW mess just not to crash with half empty servers.
I was hoping for chocobo fighting but maybe that's setting the bar too high? The concept art just seemed to be hinting at something like that but then again same could be assumed of XI concept art.
Just in case you may have missed it, Yoshida mentioned something to that effect.

That sound good but I won't get my hopes up until it's in the game.
LOL cash shop! SE's way to tell their player how they appreciate them... pull the carrot and empty your pockets $$$
And to those who support it: you are kicking yourselves. -- We just need to sit back and laugh at people with cash shop items.
(Marvelous economics IQ test!)
Well they could borrow half their ideas from FF11 considering how far the breeding system has gone there. Though that's not to say other games have not done better pet systems.
At least the lore is easy to copy-edit-pasted over from FF11.
