Well, instead of being a snide jerk for no reason you could probably go ahead and reread my post. Not once in my reply did I imply or state that I "knew" anything about the development. I said "probably" because, even though there ARE chocobos in each city-state, they PROBABLY didn't have the mechanics for using chocobos. Just having the animation and the model aren't enough. They would need to figure out the programming for chocobo speed vs normal speed, as well as the controls for using them, countering the aggro and AoE system, as well as dispelling any bugs and probably more.

And they hopefully will be special, as they have said they will be, but it will take some time. You should be happy they are giving us the rental version BEFORE all of that so that we can at least have that while we wait for the good stuff.

I'm too lazy to find the post (it was in Reinhart's translations, as well as a recent dev post) that hinted at some kind of chocobo minigame in the future. I forget the tentative name it had, but if you search some posts I'm sure you'll find it. They are probably giving us chocobos in 1.19 because they realized we NEED mounts, and we kinda need them now. They still have plans for more, though.

i didn't expect more either, and i'm happy they finally get implemented but still it was a just a stupid lie/excuse instead of telling us the truth. Alcide is absolutely right.

They just didn't manage to do it earlier didn't have the guts to tell us and instead they pretended they are working on a bigger thing for the implementation so we have to wait...

Lies have short legs... I just hope we don't see more of this.
I remember a lot of people defending SE posting things like : "guys you have to wait, they have bigger things for us, not just chocobos for rent like in ffxi, i bet it will be exciting... blabla" and similar posts all around... a big LOL to that.

Sure they are gonna improve on that system but it still was a lie, and a pretty bad one haha
