Why not Have Echo Give Speed Buff?

I notice a lot of times in Titan it doesn't matter how high the echo buff gets, people still get hit by plumes and landslides. Wouldn't it be a greaat idea to add an effect to the echo that gives a small increase to run speed, maybe something like 15-20%, not enough that you're persistently sprinting, but enough to make a difference in groups with slower reaction time.

This isn't going to help imo. People with high latency might brag that they can dodge titan and win it consistently just fine and then come to the forums telling people having trouble to git gud but that's not actually the problem. It's unstable latency. If in your play experience you've seen your damage from scrolling combat text not be consistent with your attack animation or the combo glow not blink up consistently along the gcd clock, you're eligible for the "omg i was out of landslide/plumes" club.

The game will let you move anyway you want and play out any skill animation you pressed for, giving you the illusion you're not lagging slightly behind everyone else and the server, but it means nothing when the server doesn't confirm it. You can ping sub 100 to the servers but if your isp, square's server, square's provider likes to regularly drop your packets like it's hot (only when you're not personally checking them), sooner or later you'll die to a landslide/plumes. I've partied with a lot of people for titan ex and ALOT of them seem like they'd need a vpn but not realize it. This is coming from someone who had major latency issues during the titan hm days and have largely fixed it since, with a vpn.

I've just won it for the first time not one hour ago but I feel empty. I don't think I will ever be able to join the side of players who belittle other players who can't get past this latency dice roll trial. My 3 week df/pf titan ex marathon hurts me deep into my core. If right now I'm told that yoship is in serious trouble and only me pressing a button would save him, I'd just laugh, do a 360 and moonwalk away.

Regardless of Echo giving Speed Buff, some people will still get hit with stuff and its not your fault.
The whole "Learn the fight" does not work when its other's who are failing.
What I recommend is to try to run it with a FC with experience, duty finder is not very reliable.
Or look through, or start a party in your servers Party Finder, some people would be more than glad to help.

I like echo buff it give pple who not so uber like most pple who reply here a chance to enjoy what we considered old content that most of us not even doing it anymore.You pple need to realize not everyone so darn good at this game instead acting all mighty you should be happy for them.

It doesn't sound like a very bad idea to me. Maybe not a 15-20% increase though. Perhaps 5%. I don't think it'd be something that guarantees a win. Hell, the last time I had Titan HM in duty finder for trial roulette, 50% Echo couldn't guarantee it.

Still, the hard mode fight absolutely isn't insurmountable without any Echo at all. It is literally just memorization, and after a while your only problems should be the occasional mistake that might happen due to lag or some other unfortunate circumstance or the other people in your party. Extreme is about the same way, but its biggest problem is that any amount of lag is insta-death and a probable wipe.

I think they should just fill the pit around him with high allagan, animus relics and an endless amount of gil. Rather than make the fight easier, make it rewarding to get thrown off.

I agree, Titan is supposed to be Hard hence the (hard) part at the end of the title.

Explain Whorleater, Brayflox, etc. then, which are certainly not hard by any means of the word.

You know maybe I should've prefaced with the fact that I'm not personally complaining that I can't progress, I've never had issues with titan or really any end game stuff I've so far hit. Yet, I consistently see others that do, with the echo buff people can still get carried through, and that's fine, but there are people who are genuinely trying to not be carried, another corpse in the pit, yet due to lack of reflexes, or a bad connection they simply can't keep up but they still deserve to enjoy the content just the same as anyone else. I figured that since the HM's and EX's are basically "farm content" now at this point, and getting nerfed for the casual, slower adopters anyways, that it really couldn't hurt to give an extra boost to speed so those "I could've sworn I was out" people turn into "I just barely made it out in time" crowd.

It wouldn't really hurt the people who are inherently good at this content, since there's more challenging stuff to focus on anyways, and it would make those who have been having issues this entire time (from either their fault or others) get a win. I mean you really can't deny that a 50 and 25% boost to attributes isn't already spoonfeeding enough, but while it's in the right direction, it isn't exactly what a lot of groups need. Sometimes I see perfectly fine groups in regards to healing, tanking and DPS, just completely incapable of dodging a plume or landslide. That's where the real problem is, dodging.
