PS4 - slow text input in chat windows

Steps:
1. Type text in the chat windows
2. Notice the text appear much more slowly than you type
3. Notice sometimes the first or second letter typed at the beginning of a new line are not taken as input.

Examples:
a) when trying to "/leave" a party, it often just type "leave" and I don't leave the party.
b) when trying to switch channels, I type /l5 (or /fc, or /l4, etc.) and I see /5 or l5 in the chat window

This problem was not present in the PS3. Text input was smooth and all letters were inputed correctly.

I'm not sure if this is a keyboard to ps4 problem or a game problem though. Has anyone had keyboard issues with their ps4 outside of the game? I just got my ps4 and haven't tested it.

eta: I have tested it and there are no problems inputting text with this keyboard into the ps4 outside of the game. please fix.

This happens to me as well.

Was WAY WORSE before while my wireless keyboard dongle was connected on USB port 2.

I changed to USB port 1 and its 99% better but it still misses the first character typed sometimes.

I actually get this too. I'm using a wireless Logitech keyboard. On my PS3 it was completely fine.

The biggest issue seems to be a delay when I press a key. Sometimes it works flawless, other times, not at all. Hoping they can fix this (either Sony side or SE side depending on whos issue this is!)
