Tested the second solution today and it worked!

how to type in Japanese:
hit ENTER on the keyboard,
pick up the PS4 gamepad,
hit the triangle button TWICE,
hit Alt+半角／全角key,
type the japanese,
hit ENTER twice!!!
半角／全角key = ~ Key
