I feel i have hit a wall...

It started out great and i was really enjoying myself (and i still am for the most part) but lately when i log on i dont know what to do... Im only R15 CON and im trying to figure out what i should be doing at this point.. Should i really be just jumping around to different classes trying to level my physical level up or should i be grinding out leves? Do people start grind partys (or ive seen people talking about SP partys not that i know what those are) at R15 or am i kind of on my own till a little bit later on i dont want to give up on this game yet with it still being early since i started playing so any helpful advice would be awesome.


and also if anyone can point me into the direction of getting one of those fancy sigs that would be awesome..ive found a website or two that have cool ones but the lodestone apparently doesnt accept bb code or whatever it is?

The real wall is at 24 so you are not at it yet... it gets much more hellish at that range for soloing.

I would level up multiple classes and work on getting a linkshell if you do not have one yet, this will help you immensely in the game.

Sp partys are basically FFXI type partying group where you go out and kill normal mobs throughout the world. A decent party can pull upwards of 20-30k sp/hr for rank 18 all the way to 50 depending on the camp and party composition.

Partys start to really pay off around 18 when you can go with 5-6 people and kill puks in Nanawa and such.

Getting an active linkshell (one that does more then just chat online) is key honestly. The game, at least for me, is all about the grouping. I myself find very little fun soloing anything outside crafts and gathering. And 15 soloing is still on easy mode, your sp takes a massive hit at 25 (literally get 1/2 the sp solo you use to... so grouping is sorta needed if you want decent sp outside leves more or less)

Yup agreed finding a good ls is a critical factor. Sp for soloing is too little for the later rank. If you are thinking of maining con, getting your thm up will be a good choice as it can act as a sub for your con. If you need a sig, you can just go google it. There's plenty of website for it.

You could be doing a few things:
-sell your shards and clear your bags (do you know about retainers?)
-keep your shards and craft stuff
-buy new gear
-repair gear
-grind for shards/mats to sell/use
-do leves/behest/grind for your main
-play an alt
-chat/social/emotes/forums

This is a problem that i've seen across many new players who are just stumped on what to do. I don't blame them very much. 1.19 looks like its going to have a much smoother journey and options for a lot of people. Right now it looks like a lot of players get on, do leves and then are totally stumped on what to do. Grinding isn't all that fun atm, solo or party. If you want to keep making progress on your mage i would suggest trying to find people to play with, and then once you hit rank 25 you should do two things

Toto-rak dungeon.
get others to help you hunt some NMs.

Side quest are also neat little diversions, not necessarily meaty content to blow through, but are dialogue and lore driven diversions. They might seem to reward you petty for the mass of running around you do, but its actually a decent maybe 5 percent of your needed exp if you do it at level.

of course you have main storyline quest, Class quest, Behest to toy with. but yeah times are tough for newer and older players who are trying to find ways to preoccupy themselves in eorzea.

physical lvls are being abolished, i wuold just do leves until your rank 25. They ar a good way to build up your gil and sp. do some behest while your at the camp, and find a LinkShell to keep you company and help you.

Also do yourself a favor and stick with conjuror, they are very much in demand class right now.

Hey thanks a lot guys for the answers! I truly believe that once 1.19 hits and they get rid of physical levels i will enjoy the game a lot more but since your class levels up a significant amount faster than physical level i find myself having to rinse and repeat a lot of what im doing to survive. I have learned about retainers thats one thing ive come accustomed to lol. Thats the one thing that i justify leveling other classes for is to grind for shards and crystals to sell. Im in an LS and its a night and day difference then while playing alone. Im happy to hear CON is needed im definitely enjoying it and once i found the hotkey to switch A.O.E on and off it made attacking multiple mobs a heck of a lot easier.
