    Just hit lvl 30

Given my prior problems with the instances at lvl 15 and lvl 20, I'm considering waiting until I hit the level sync cap for the lvl 30 class quest. I hope I will still have this done before my next dungeon comes up, but in the event that I want to make story progress and I get to that point, will I get weird looks or kicked if I'm still queuing as an ACN for the next dungeon (for reference, Thousand Maws was my last one)?

For reference, I'm the dope that made this thread:

My arcanist friend recommends hitting the level sync cap. It is a bit of a hectic fight.
You will be okay running the next dungeon, Haukke Manor, without having a job yet. Lots of people run that at level 28. You may even be okay with Brayflox Longstop (32-34), which is the one after that. You can't face Titan until level 35, at which point you are level sync capped for your level 30 quest.
Since you have conjurer 14, I'm guessing you are going for scholar? If you are switching to healing, you will want to start the scholar quests as soon as you finish your level 30 arcanist quest and give yourself a chance to get used to it before taking it into dungeons.

Thanks! I'm at Haukke Manor right now, but a friend wants to run it with me so I'll have a little time to level a bit and continue preparing for a fight that will probably take me a few tries. And yes, I'm aiming for SCH.

I'm a bit confused about how acquiring a job works and what happens afterward. I believe my friend mentioned that the new job starts at a lower level than your class? So does this mean that I should hang on to a few of my lower level books and robes and things? I was looking at trying to clean my inventory up some, so I'd like to know before I end up without something I might need.

Also, my strategy so far as ACN has been to focus on one enemy until it's dead, but considering I'm expecting things to ramp up a bit (especially with Sinking Doesmaga), is there a more effective way to play? Regarding SCH and healing... it's a drastic role change, but I feel better off supporting than leading, so is there anything I should know?

Your Job level is equal to the Class it stems from and vise versa
if your a lvl 30 ACN you'll be a lvl 30 SCH, lvl 43 SCH your ACN will also be 43.

I will add that you need the "sub class" at lvl 15, for SCH, thats CNJ

You don't need to keep your lower level gear for your job, but you might want to keep it if you switch to another low level casting class. Th job is basically an add-on to the class and always has the same level as the base class.

For strategy, you probably want to hit several things with Bio first and give it time to work. If there are any enemy healers take them out first, then mages, then others. In general take out the lower level things first.
For scholar, check the healer section of the forums. You will want to get used to the pet management skills if you haven't already. Also play with organizing the party order if you haven't found that yet and targeting party members quickly.

My friend wanted me to get my job quests now, though he ran Haukke Manor with me the other night, so I reluctantly attempted Sinking Doesmaga at 32, with an average item lvl of 26.

First attempt was interrupted by RL and I couldn't recover.
Second attempt I for some reason thought that maybe I could use Emerald's firepower since Kylia had a Topaz to tank. That went horribly.

I took a break, did some story quests, got a few pieces of gear, then came back.

Third attempt... I finally noticed that two of the ??? lvl guys were a healer and THM, who seemed to be the biggest issues of the fight.
And the final attempt the Echo came up and I cleared it. I... feel a little sick. I 90k'd trying to get back to the Arcanist's guild.

Doh! Hopefully the fight should still count as completed.
    And congrats!
