Maybe this finally gives some perspective to people thinking these things get done with a snap of a finger.
It's like this is any MMO. Remodeling is much faster I would imagine, or just recoloring.
And we are getting SEVEN completely new armor designs with jobs. It's a lot for any game.
Now imagine how long it takes to revamp the areas. Expansion-scale amount of work right there.

Wow, Rukkirii! You sure are beautiful! and Awesome job with the post! Thanks! (^_^)v

Anyone that thinks they can do programming stuff in MMORPG faster than SE should recall, or learn what happen in FFXI yesterday. There was a small update to FFXI which cause a very game breaking glitch, which basically have cure do 99999 damage to all undead mobs.
It's a perfect case in point on how difficult working on MMORPG can be. IT could cause very random glitches or bugs that could break the game.
Bottomline is: Anyone that claims "I can do this shit faster" very likely have no idea what they are talking about or how MMORPG works.

That's just spaghetti code.Anyone that thinks they can do programming stuff in MMORPG faster than SE should recall, or learn what happen in FFXI yesterday. There was a small update to FFXI which cause a very game breaking glitch, which basically have cure do 99999 damage to all undead mobs.

XIV has it's share of bugs but they are usually actually related to the modified feature in question... in XI you get bugs like when the scholar job was implemented with spells that modify the player's weather status, at the same time some completely unrelated monster types self-healing ability that is based on weather broke and healed for a lot more than it should.
It can be hilarious.

Instant... dead? undead mobs. Sounds as much fun as frustrating.Anyone that thinks they can do programming stuff in MMORPG faster than SE should recall, or learn what happen in FFXI yesterday. Point taken though.
So what you're saying is that game-breaking bugs can be tracked down and fixed in a matter of hours? Explain how this defends XIV's timeline, because I'm missing something.Anyone that thinks they can do programming stuff in MMORPG faster than SE should recall, or learn what happen in FFXI yesterday. Interim solutions are for pansies.

SE themselves explained it, however judging by your sig:
They use proper spelling and grammar, yet you seem to not read their posts. If you didn't have time to spell simple words correctly and follow basic rules of grammar, I didn't have time to read your post.
I don't actually spend all day reading every post, you're right, and typically miss dev posts. Feel free to link the one where they explain how the XI team being able to fix game-breaking bugs in a matter of hours justifies their timeline.
