Crashes with Downsampling

Hey guys,
i have a big problem with my game.
I tried to downsample it, to make it look a bit better and since some friends of me are doing it too i thought "Why not?"
My Problem is that the Game keeps crashing each time i try to set the new resolution.
The new resolution is 2880x1620. It also works in other games only FFXIV keeps crashing everytime i set it.
Setting the resolution in the config doesn't work either.

Does someone have a possible solution for that?

System:
I5 2500k @ 4x4.3Ghz
8GB DDR3-1600
GTX 680 + newest drivers. Nothing changed or misconfigured there. Atleast not as far as i know.
standard resolution is 1920x1080
Windows 7 x64

fixed it. missed an option in the advanced settings for resolution in the nvidia driver. no idea why it got unchecked.
