90K Error Questions

So on my computer I've been 90k-ing for the last 4 hours non stop. Called my internet service provider and they said my modem was bad and they will be out friday to fix it. Fine. I went out and bought a new modem for the time being, and yet I'm still 90k-ing and my girlfriend who's right next to me plugged into the same modem, hasn;t 90k'ed one time tonight.

Any thoughts or solutions?

Corrupted FFXIV files, or sometimes, it's programs installed on your PC that is messing with the game. Like in my experience, a wallpaper program was making my FFXIV crash at random times.

Re-install FFXIV and turn off any background applications you are not using.

problem with that is i have nothing installed as of late. and now its happening on my girlfriends computer. I have 3 games on this pc... im hoping its something to do with my ISP..

Ah, I had my assumptions since it wasn't happening to your girlfriend's pc at the first post. With 90k errors, it's almost always your ISP or the relays in between you and the servers.

Try this as a band-aid fix and see if it "works". Download WTFast and try the 30 day free trial. If that fixes your problem, then it's one of the connection points to the server or your ISP. If not, it might be a hardware problem.

EDIT: If that program works, I wouldn't depend on it though. It's better to find what is actually causing the problem. (Only time I used it was when rubberbanding hit EU and gameplay was really bad)

If you're running wireless to the modem, change to wired.

Tried WTF before just for shits and giggles and it wasn't an improvement on what I already had. 57mbps down and 12mbs up does wonders. I was trying out other games that I used to play online and the lag issue is in those games as well now. I'm betting it is comcast and they will be out Friday the soonest. No hardware issue either now that its happening on all devices in my apartment. Even trying to browse reddit on my phone lags out and says connection errors.

Oh i know. Comcast support: "Well we can get someone out there as soon as May 3rd to fix the issue." after about 2 hours of going back and forth she got her manager and he set it up for Friday. Went out and bought a new modem to see if that was the issue. It's not. It has to be from the outside connection.

Nope, I never run our computers on wireless. Even put a 1GB 5 port switch in my bedroom upstairs so when we wanna game in bed we are always wired.

When I first started to play this game I got 90k'd at least 20 times a day. Then I updated my sound driver and the 90k's stopped. Very odd. Of course, it might have been something else like my ISP getting fixed without me knowing.

Either way, if I were you, I'd make sure all my drivers were up-to-date.
