Anyone know how to fix these bugs?

well the first one is that the chat log in the game just stays at the same size as however the text extends it to and i can't adjust the size http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z9xOALo3oNU this guy had the same problem. and the other bug is that when i'm dont playing i press log off then exit then exit again (like i'm suppose to) and it doesn't shut down all the way. It just stays at a black screen and doesn't respond. Does anyone know how to fix these problems?

Have you tried reinstalling, or is there a repair option like XI has? Can't say I've ever seen the chat bug before, but the black screen with it not shutting down I know I've experienced in other games before but I don't recall what I did to fix it.

Well you can try to reset the widgets to fix the chat. Have no idea what's causing the crash though. Is there a app-crash message in the background maybe?

Thread Title:
There are two issues. The first is that i can not exit the game properly, it goes to a black screen and stays at the black screen which forces me to exit by using Ctrl+Alt+Delete. Then whenever I try and enter the game afterwards and error message occurs that says "Timed out while waiting for Final Fantasy XIV to shut down" then I am forced to restart my computer, after i restart my computer I am aloud to start the game again. The second is the chat log issue, i am unable to edit the size of it.

I was not doing anything when these issues occur The chat log issue happens as soon as i get into the game and the exiting issue happens every time i exit the game and when i exit i'm not crafting or battling or anything I am just standing in a town or sitting in a town

Indeed, in a patch a while ago they made it so that you have to activate the pane before resizing. For the pane that does not have the input box for typing, this means clicking on the scroll bar (or the actual scroll bar up/down buttons, I don't remember which). You can then click-drag the borders like a normal window. (didn't watch the video so I don't know if that was tried or not).

yes i've tride everything i click on it so it shows up. i can move it around i just can't grab the sides/corners to resize it. the video i put up in my first post shows exactly what happens

YES I have switched resolutions and it doesn't work! This is really starting to piss me off. it's interfering with everything because eventually the chat log starts taking up the whole screen!
