Looking to transfer here maybe?

Hiya, I was wondering if I could get some help with my FC's transfer decision. We're currently on Pheonix, but play more at NA times. Excalibur seems like a great server but I have worries about the population being a bit overly advanced in the game, with it being Legacy and all. We are a small group of 6, with 5 having 1-2 level 50 classes, getting into endgame finally, and the new member topping at level 20. Is it a difficult world to level on at this point? I don't want our new member to have to struggle.

We're looking for a place with friendly and LGBTQ-accepting people, maybe to start accepting new members, too. I was also looking at Cactuar and Behemoth.

It's been a friendly, easy place to level. I've been consistently impressed with the level of maturity and helpfulness among all players. In fact, that's what initially drew me to a Legacy server in the first place--people who are more interested in enjoying the game and bring lots of social etiquette to the table. I haven't been proven wrong on too many occasions, but I suppose you'll always have a few bad apples in the bunch.

The community of beginning players, Levels 1-30, seems smaller than when I started back in September '13. Chalk it up to the fact that Excalibur is frequently one of the servers that doesn't accept new character creations on any given day.

I can't speak to GLBTA discussion or acceptance. I ally very strong for the cause, but it simply doesn't come up in conversation enough for me to concretely say how people other than myself feel. At the end of the day, it probably all comes back to what's been a very positive social etiquette, in my experience.

In addition, there are lots of folks FATE-ing and using Party Finder to organize Primal and Coil runs, so those communities are active and (by and large) friendly or at least explanatory as to what their goals are and what kind of players they're looking for. And simply asking for help crafting or materia melding will get you a friendly party invite within seconds.

I too transferred here from pheonix. I do not regret it. Great people. There's always the bad eggs though. There's not much difference between legacy and non legacy servers anymore. Just a few more elitists, and more people with 1.0 mounts and such.

Thank you for the insight! I think on a server without rude players it's not really as much of a concern to find accepting havens for specific groups- as you said, Brielle, it's social etiquette. I've been making characters on other servers to test, and on one saw f*g in chat after being on for two minutes, so I can see how it needs to be an issue in some places.

Glad you made the decision then, Yama! I don't think we mind seeing 1.0 mounts really.
