I can confirm that I have this issue too using a wired keyboard. It's not game breaking or anything but it's pretty annoying. Unless I'm manually spellchecking everything I type now, someone of my words end up missing letters. :/ it's annoying and makes me sound like a bit of a tard I feel. ;~; Also my ~ button doesn't work anymore.
I've noticed the sluggish response gets worse overtime on the ps4. I use the same keyboard upstairs on my pc and it works fine (it's just a crappy HP thing) but on my ps4 it'll start off just missing out the odd letter..then it gets to the point where it'll be like I'm just mashing the keyboard. All I've tried is making sure the controller and my phone are out the way so they don't interfere, but other than that, just had to put up with it![]()
Yeah, I have a cheap wired keyboard also and I get the same problem. It worked perfect when I played on PS3 and now a few of my letters don't appear if I'm typing fast. I basically have to hunt and peck my typing and re-read what I type every time because of missed letters.
What's weird is it seems like it only happens with certain inputs. /fc is ALWAYS just /f if I'm typing too fast. /p usually ends up just being a /. Space bar cuts out sometimes. And I literally have no other problems with any other letters on my keyboard. Plugged it into my PC and wrote about 300 words on a Word document and not so much as a mispelled word, so I know nothing is wrong with my keyboard.
Seems like a general issue with the PS4 and keyboards
I got exactly the same problem as you have, i already posted a bug report in the german forums but i don't get any reaction of SE about it. Its unplayable like this.Have a Logitech K800 series wireless keyboard that worked flawlessly while playing this game on PS3, since transferring over to the game on PS4 I have horrible keyboard input delay and sometimes when I press a letter it will repeat three or four times. It's only related to this game only as when I tried typing using the browser on PS4 or the FF 14 launcher there are no problems at all.
Anyone else having this problem and/or know how to fix it?
same wireless keyboard i have used on PS3 and not 1 single issue using on PS4.
I guess i am just one of the lucky few
Aside from the fact that my 'T' button doesn't work at all on anything...
Yes. I some times miss the first letters entirely.
-----------------------------------
"Oh! Hey! I forgot to mention."
Could become:
"h! Hey! I forgo o menion"
Missing the first 'O' and all the 'Ts'. Lol I just don't type anymore. :P
--------------------------------
Also, use a logitech keyboard. Just a different model.
Thank god it's not just me I also posted a bug report hopefully it'll get sorted
Most of my key strokes go through on my wireless KB. No idea on brand/model but its a flat-stylish one that I keep on my coffee table to use with my PS4. Probably cost me $40.
The biggest problem I am having is that the first "Space" I try to input into any line of text often does not work. So I will sometimes type 3 sentences in a single line, then get the error message that "/panyways," is not a command. Lol!
I'm sure they will fix it at some point.
