I did a pile of gathering on it on the weekend and it worked fine.
I couldn't figure out how to do the "touchpad press" though.
I also wouldn't use it regularly unless I can save a second UI setting.
The map was too small if I didn't switch to 720p but that messes up the 1080p layout.
Iv been using mine quite a bit. Took awhile to get used to the controls but now I would be happy doing most things on it except maybe really hard end game content. But works really well.
There is actually a second UI when you connect your vita to the PS4. I'm not sure how much you messed around with the UI on the PS4, but if you watch it connect you will notice the UI will change to the default settings. That was at least my experience, I noticed it because I messed with my UI on the PS4 the previous night and when I was on my vita I noticed it was all wrong. I hope this helps.
Touchpad press is not set to anything by default on the Vita. I mapped that to start button in the config. They really dropped the ball on control settings options for controller.I did a pile of gathering on it on the weekend and it worked fine.

Crap. If I buy a vita I will never stop playing.
