Whats the Asterisk above my character about? Here is a screenshot

That's your average item level. The post-50 dungeons have an average item level (ilvl) requirement instead of a character level requirement.

That number indicates how many recommendations you've received from other players in dungeon.

Nope. Those are listed on the Reputation tab next to a little heart coin. The number pictured is, as Sagittarian pointed out, the iLevel of your current equipment.

Hmm..and here I've been looking at it wrong. So much stuff to learn still ^^
