Make a character on the destination server and check the materia market then buy whatever that can make profit/breakeven.
I was 600k over the gil limit... invested that 600k into materia and turned it into 2m on my new server. Now I looked back on it :/ I should have just turned all my gil into materia rather than just what was over the gil limit.
Capping people at 1 million may slow down RMT, sure. But it also slows down legitimate players too, probably more so than RMT. You know, since RMT are already on every server to begin with, and have little to no reason to transfer their gil. So basically it just hurts legitimate players and does little to nothing for RMT. Similar to the moogle mail issue, it's bad design all around that fails at the core thing it's designed to do.
Also I love that people say it stops people from stealing FC banks. Yeah, that's what it does. It stops something that is such a miniscule issue that every player in the game needs to be punished for it. Fantastic.
