    PS4 Control Configuration

I'm not high enough level to post this on the interface forum, apparently , but here's my question:

First and foremost, I love the layout of the controls. Everything is very smooth and I am surprised at how nice the transition from PC to console was for me (this is the first time I've played an MMO on a console, and so far I'm really enjoying it)! My only complaint is that I'm a little bit OCD, and I want to be able to invert the R2 controls. To clarify, the default layout is:

    L2 - D-pad // Square, Triangle, Circle, X
    R2 - D-pad // Square Triangle, Circle, X

What I would like to know, is if I can invert the R2 pad, so that it will be - Square, Triangle, Circle, X // D-pad.

Reason being - I'm really OCD and want my main-use abilities to be towards the center of the screen, but it feels clunky to be holding down R2 and trying to use the D-pad if I also am trying to move at the same time. Maybe my hands just need to get used to it. I have found a decent alternative if this isn't possible, but ultimately it would make me very happy if there is in fact a way to make it happen. Thanks in advance!

Nope, there's no setting for this. You can switch it so all the D-pad abilities are on the left and all the button abilities are on the right (so it goes L2 D-Pad R2 D-Pad L2 buttons R2 buttons), but you can't flip either set around completely.

Darn. That was my fear. I suppose I will have to just change it so that only the one I'm holding down will display. It's not ideal, but I do understand why they did it that way. Hopefully they'll implement an option to flip that around at some point in the future.

    Thanks again!

I recommend changing the crosbar setting to toggle mode (although it was a bit "messed up" by previous update) - then you'll just tap L2 or R2 to bring the bar up / make active and press only individual action button instead of holding shoulder buttons all the time - this is quite usefull especially for healers.

Indeed. That is actually what I was going to do Or at least I planned on making it so that only one would be displayed at a time, and it would only display when I did press that button. But that is a great idea, and I really appreciate the suggestion. Thank you!

You can also change the settings that the bars are completely hidden if not active (which I prefer) so you have both more of free space on screen when wandering around. Finally - you can play atound with the automatic changing of the actions on the bars with and without weapon sheated (not that usefull for healers though).

Between those, I'd recommend giving preference to which buttons feel most comfortable to use, rather than which part of the screen you want to look at. I have my highest-use attack skills on the right hand side, because I find the R2 + X/Circle/Triangle/Square buttons to be the easiest combinations. You can pretty quickly get used to looking right for high-use and left for occasional use skills, or vice versa according to which buttons you're most comfortable with.
