    FFXIV Controller Problems

Ive had FFXIV since it came out and this issue just wont go away, first off, here is my specs:

    Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Quad CPU @ 2.40GHz
    4GB DDR3 Ram
Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium Edition (build 7600), 64-bit
    GeForce 8800 GTX
    Video RAM 2.5 GB
    Pixel Shader version 4.0
    Vertex Shader version 4.0

And Im using an Xbox 360 Wired controller for PC (white)

After literally a minute of being engaged it switches to the second player. Ive tried uninstalling and re installing the drivers, tried everything except a new pad, I getthe feeling THAT wont make a differance as this pad wotrks perfectly fine for FFXI, help??

Further info, it will only mess up when i fight. Basically when im in battle the controller changes to player 2 and then will not work until i reset the game.

That... is bizzare. I don't have the PC Controller, I have the 360 Controller on my PC, and it works just fine. So, my first question is, is it the wireless controller using a USB cord? Or is it an actual wired controller? Some things to try for general trouble shooting, you can try a different USB Port.

Another question I have for you, are you sure that it is triggered by fighting and not simply the passage of time? I mean, if you sit there and do nothing, will it eventually swap over to player #2 if you aren't using it?

Or does maybe the rumble effect trigger it? <.<

No rumble, and yeh i tested it for ages doing nothing. Its a wired controller on the PC, its the same one i use for FFXI, which is always 101% fine

Well, hell. That is just odd. I do know that FF14 has issues with dropping (wireless) controllers, but I've not heard any issues with wired controllers until now. First thing to do, hit up Microsoft Hardware and make sure you have the newest drivers. If that doesn't work, try the standard "This will fix everything when nothing else works fix..."

In your Documents / My Games folder will be a folder for Final Fantasy XIV. Create a folder on your desktop. Move everything in the FF folder into the temp folder on your desktop. Move only the Users folder back into the Final Fantasy folder.

I don't know if this will actually work. I expect it won't, but this "fix" has fixed some of the most random and bizarre bugs in the game, ranging from UI/Widget, to disconnects, to graphics glitches. Here's hoping?
