Are Luminaries going to be used as glamour items only in 2.2?

I saw that they updated the looks of the workbenches, however with the newly released main tools, what else will Luminaries be used for?

Those Luminaries we sank gil and time into will be nothing more than a fleeting memory in our glamour crystals. Oh well, I saw this coming a mile away...I'm more disappointed that Blacksmith (one of the better crafters in 2.0-2.1) is now pretty much junk.

The "AF" tools did not always exist. Luminary tools were far superior to anything else when they were first added.

And this is 2.x, not 1.x...
The AF tools likely got the same stats as luminaries because a number of luminaries from 1.x were botted, and SE wanted to equalize old and new crafters.

Still, saying it was never for anything but looks is just wrong.

So yes, Luminary tools were never the best tools.

Yeah I doubt that they plan to add a way to upgrade your luminary tools (although that would've been a good way to reward players who spent hours farming for those achievements).

As it stands, you'll have to glamour them onto your new tools after you complete the tool upgrade requirements. They were probably never intended to be anything more than a vanity thing anyways.

I figured this was what they were for too so I don't mind if it stays that way. I just wanted to make sure that I didn't misread anything.

Aside from the fact that they were hands down the best tools you could get for a time, yeah I'm totally sure they added them in 1.0 to be used as vanity items in 2.2.
