echo buff...ppl not trying anymore.

joined the trial roulette, after 1 wipe (lack of dps),ppl were talking about wiping on purpouse to get the echo buff , 2nd try at p2 > some1 called out for wipe (no1 was dead at the time) and ppl just jumped off to their deaths.

they were talking about wiping more until echo was at 50%......thats mean 15 min wiping on purpouse.

thats how the game is going to work now? , not even trying , just wiping and wiping until u max the echo then faceroll the boss?

I have the total opposite, people are always trying their best and not wiping on purposed. I see less people try to leave after a couple of wipe. Before with Echo Buff one fight and they would leave if you don't win it. Also, I thought Echo Buff only go up to 25% Max? I think the reason they put it there so people don't just Quit right away when they do those Primal Fight. It also for people who aren't hardcore to catch up. This are old contents, so I don't understand what you are complaining about.

There is plenty of hard mode there for you without Echo Buff. Levi Extreme, Moogle Extreme, New Coil of Bahamut, Turn 5 is still decent Challenged, etc.

The echo buff for the Binding Coil is a flat value, of 10%, that will be increased up to 30% in the future.

For the trials and other areas where it has been applied, the value is 10% per wipe, up to a cap of 50%.

But yes. While I can see some people wanting to abuse it or expecting a free pass from it, it does have a surprisingly reinforcing feeling to any group that's legitimately trying to clear something. "Okay, we got this far without echo - so not only will we do better from experience but we'll have a bit of an advantage, let's stick with this we can get it."

Even worse in coil we get auto-echo from the 1st min and if I click it off people will vote-kick me...

Like with most/all(?) buffs and mount riding status (and probably a few other things), just right click it to remove it.

It's 10% per wipe up to 50% for Hydra, Chimera, and HM primals (except for Leviathan). It's 5% per wipe up to 25% for Ultima's Bane and XM Garuda, Titan, and Ifrit.

In all seriousness though, if you've already beat the content before without echo...why do you care?!?

I thought this was extremely obvious at this point, but beating content once doesn't mean you're completely done with it for a lot of people. There are dozens upon dozens of people that had beaten Coil before the patch to go back in and either get stuff they missed, help some friends, or gear up other classes. This issue is going to be extremely real for them. The entire point of the thread is that people go in, waste time wiping on a fight that you can't really brute force and then fail utterly at it. He's getting at the point that people are using Echo as a crutch, rather than dealing with mechanics or learning how to dodge.

It works both ways, as people who had already beaten the content are already coming back in, trying to use Echo to brute force fights and skip the mechanics and ignore everyone else that either don't know the fight at all yet, don't have awesome gear, or both. Essentially, it is making the content far more difficult than it should be.

Yep... don´t know for PS3/4, as PC Player, you right-click the Buff Icon and it´s gone till you re-enter... (even dying won´t bring it back)
