I'm pretty much done with end game in FFXIV:ARR for this reason. The community in general isn't as skilled as Yoshida's content demands that they be. On top of which, there are a number of highly skilled players who are stuck because they do not have the time to form statics like they did 5 or 10 years ago. Then of course we have the people doing statics wrong, thinking they need to do 4-5 hours a night to clear content... which would generally indicate they are grabbing people who are not skilled enough to handle the stuff. So in the end, we have a really small number of static groups who can actually clear the content effectively.

The echo buff situation just illustrates the issue. The only solution I can think of is that it would be best to deal with how things actually are and not "what they should be." The way things actually are indicate that the complexity for the damage dealing classes/jobs is too much for most players and the boss fights are too cumbersome for them. Plus, we live in a day and age where people want to be able to accomplish something meaningful in a short time, and so party finder becomes a way for people to get a "quick fix" on raiding. Aka, people jump in for 1-3 attempts and then drop. No group can progress on the hardest content in that kind of environment. I'm still trying to help the rest of my friends get through Twintania... Its a nightmare.
