PS4 Client Needs Background Mode!

hello.

it would super nifty to see some kind of background mode we can toggle. it would be super useful for when we want to use the browser. because as it stands now, the browser runs like junk with FFXIV:ARR running.

it needs to be something different then the PS4's built-in suspend mode. because suspending will eventually time-out your connection. unless there was some specific instruction to prevent your connection from timing-out.




either way, i hope Square Enix is capable of doing something.

it should most likely attempt to reduce the overall graphical quality. and also reduce the max FPS 30. and should also be easily toggled. like an icon attached to the radar or something.

in any case, whether it is toggled or automatically enabled. again... a background mode would be great for when we want to launch up the browser.

I haven't spent a lot of time on the PS4 version yet, so don't know quite how its suspend mode works. How long does that "eventually" take before it times out your game connection? If it takes quite a while, then it seems like that's what you'd want to happen. Suspend if you're just going to look something up real quick and then come right back to the game. Log out if you're going to be browsing for a while. I do see how it could be a problem, though, if that time-out is set too short and it disconnects you while you're still just trying to look something up.

there is no quick way to suspend. launching the browser does not provide the option. you must launch another app. like Netflix or something.

the suspend mode is out of the way. and the connection times-out in like a minute or two.



some sort of background is NEEDED 100%. i don't care what it does. i don't care how it is activated. it should of course be auto or a simple toggle though. but i don't care what is does. as long as it, temporally, frees up some system resources.

i am only asking for something we should already have. as it stands, it is impossible to browse the majority of websites. most websites will load slow. and then perform very slowly when trying to scroll or something. if the game is closed then the browser performs perfectly. we need a background mode to free up system resources for foreground processes.

could really use that background mode :P some websites can't even be visited due to low RAM.


anyhow... yeah. a background mode, or even something similar would be most welcomed ^_^
