I suddenly can't login to Mysidia without a VPN?

Well, for some odd reason the first 2 weeks the game ran fine. Then I started getting a 30002 error as well when logging in. I can login with a vpn just fine but can't afford to keep it at the moment. I have tried forwarding ports, I've tried putting my computer in DMZ. I've tried shutting off my firewall. Nothing works but the VPN and it is not without it's issues as well. For the last week I haven't been able to login to Mysidia without it.
I tried other characters on other servers, they work fine; No vpn necessary. I just can't login to Mysidia without a vpn and that is where my first character (who I am not fond of giving up on) is located.
I cannot afford to pay for this VPN for another month (the only fast enough ones you need to pay for) and I certainly won't be able to afford both the VPN AND the game every month I want to play.

It is indeed! I got the vpn part fixed (I can logon without it) but I get 30002 disconnects now every 10 to 30 minutes like so many other ppl on here. I just don't get it, my connection is quite fast (even over wireless I'm getting 3mb/s) so I don't know...

For some people the router was the problem. But the ISP also seems to play a role sometimes. (lost packets seem to be an issue even though ffxiv uses tcp)

Nvm lol, it's working good now! Maybe it was server load?
Anyhow, thank you to all of you for trying to help!
