PS4 Physical Copy installed to HDD but need disc to start game each time

Hi there.
Had Final Fantasy xiv on PS3, physical copy installed to HDD. Did not need disc to play the game after installation. Just played off HDD. When PS4 version released did not choose free upgrade as wanted to buy the Collector's Edition on blu ray. Did buy it and installed to HDD on PS4. Linked it to existing Square-Enix account. Expected it to be the same as PS3 version in that it would not require the physical disc each time wanted to play. Unfortunately every time I boot it up the PS4 requests the physical disc to be inserted.
Is there something I have missed?

I was wondering the same thing. I thought I wouldn't need the disc again after the initial install but the game won't work without the disc inside.

you could try the 12 digit registration code on the psn to see if u can download it.at the moment that's the only thing I can think of that would allow you to play the game without the disk.
