Between Monk and Dragoon, who is wanted most at endgame?
Between Monk and Dragoon, who is wanted most at endgame?
The one with higher player skill.
That really depends on the player behind the job.
Finding a good melee is no easy task.
I see more Dragoon than Monk.
But I prefer being Monk.
Depends on skill level. There are also factors in a fight that can make a difference. With a fight like most of coil where there is a constent ability to hit mnk does very well. In a fight like leviathan with a lot of downtime mnk losing GL is a big downer.
DRG is pretty solid / reliable in most fight granted if the monk can just sit there and endlessly beat on the boss he will out dps the DRG with equivilent gear/skill almost every time.
Monk is a lot faster game play having such low gcd with GL at full
Balance is pretty good right now so choose w/e interest you more
Monk has high (relative) top speed, slow (relative) acceleration.
Dragoon has moderate top speed, moderate acceleration.
A fight with mechanics that involve not dealing damage (most primals jumping) tends to favor DRG slightly. A fight that is more or less a straight DPS race (most of Coil) tends to favor MNK slightly. Both are wanted, but a large amount of players tend to not play DPS jobs correctly so there is a negative stigma attached to most DPS as a whole.
XI: Zeroblade, Titan Server
Dragoon as it buffs bard and has better burst.
Either bring both (1xDRG or 1xMNK)
Or bring one person with gear for both - (accessories are shared, who else is the off-class melee loot suppose to go to?)
This lets you have access to both DRG/MNK if any fights favor the particular class.
Goons have better burst & more comp synergy. Monks have much higher sustained DPS over a full fight. Monk's have the highest single target DPS in the game. Both have their benefits and between an equally skilled monk & dragoon the choice is difficult. In the end, take the better player.
Dragoon
Because they let bards do more damage and every group has at least one bard.
