PS3 Pre-order at Amazon.com

So sorry if this has been previously posted but I just wanted to know any information on the ps3 version being pre-sold on amazon for the release date of October 2011. I have googled my heart out trying to find any info on this and nothing.

I think Amazon sometimes just puts a guess up there. The FFXIV PS3 pre-order page, up until a recently, said something absurd along the lines of December 2019, hah.

at the rate this game is advancing i don't know how you can argue that 2019 is absurd.

Development on Diablo III began in 2001 when Blizzard North was still in operation. The original artistic design differed from that shown at Blizzard Worldwide Invitational 2008 demonstration, and had undergone three revisions before reaching the standards felt necessary by the team behind Diablo III.

Diablo III's lead designer is Jay Wilson, a former Relic Entertainment designer credited with work on Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War and Company of Heroes as well as Blood II: The Chosen for Monolith Productions. Its lead world designer is Leonard Boyarsky, one of the six co-creators of Fallout.[26]

The game is being planned for a simultaneous release on both Windows and Mac OS X platforms. Blizzard is considering a concept design for consoles, reportedly even hiring staff for a console version,[27] while stating this concept will not affect PC/Macintosh release dates.[28]

On May 9, 2011 an announcement by Mike Morhaime was made that Diablo III is currently expected to be released for external beta testing in Q3 of 2011.[29]

Amazon, like other companies such as gamestop, bestbuy, etc, put up a placeholder date in order to get the pre-orders started. It's not a confirmed date, because if it was it would be all over and everyone would probably know about it. I don't see the PS3 release coming out until March 2012, but that's my own personal guess-work.
