How often do people actually clear Titan Extreme?

I think one of the funniest wipes I've seen was when the caster decided to LB3 the mini-titans. Just in time to blind everyone for the bombs and landslide.

Since I've done both tanking phases I can say, for sure, everything is ridiculously easy to dodge in Titan EX. Even if you need as much up time on the boss as you can possibly squeeze in (which you don't, only thing that needs to be killed quick are the adds), most of the stuff gives you plenty of time to react to it. Plumes is the only slightly hard-to-react mechanic in the fight and I've even dodged those when I completely spaced out and forgot what was coming when. Latency issues are a bit less forgiving in EX since everyone stacks for plumes, but that's about it. 3-way landslides are easy to dodge, bombs are easy to dodge, plumes are easy to dodge... there's a lot of stuff TO dodge but it's not exactly giving you a small gap of time to dodge for most of it. Like HM it mainly depends on your ping, but as long as you aren't on Dial Up or somewhere in Australia you should be fine. I have a personal bias toward Garuda since tanking her is probably the hardest thing to actually tank in this game so far, excluding T9 (since I haven't done it yet). I'd say Garuda and Titan are roughly even for DPS though, maybe a slight step up and obviously everyone is personally responsible for themselves in this fight, but... *shrug* if you can do HM, you can do EX.

For healers and DPS, Titan is infinitely harder than Garuda. I've had to both heal and DPS both Garuda and Titan, and Garuda EX is definitely easier on everybody else. While I have not tanked it (no level 50 tank yet), I already know from my best friend tanking it that Garuda is definitely harder on the tanks than anybody else. But Titan...that's the easiest fight for the tanks out of the original 3 EX fights due to not really needing to dodge anything if you have Titan on you (other than the stray bombs). But for everybody else...any latency or lag and you've died and have probably caused the party to have to wipe because you no longer have the DPS to pull off a win.

I've cleared Titan Extreme but for whatever reason I cannot play it consistently. I'll join a group and do amazing the first few tries. Be among the last ones to die, dodge everything flawlessly. Make it to super bombs no problem. Then out of nowhere, things fall apart and I start getting hit by landslides or weights when I shouldn't. I know how to avoid them but it just won't always work.

It's really not a hard fight. Nothing is that difficult to dodge but sometimes the game doesn't like you. There have been times where I've been baffled by it.

Often. Cleared him three times last week for some people in my FC/static group. Honestly he's a complete joke if you don't lag. And I BELIEVE that some people do lag, because I couldn't dodge a damn thing until I switched from wireless to Ethernet.

Being realistic, if the OP had a decent FC/static, this thread wouldn't exist. He's more than likely talking about running it solo in the DF, not with a static or FC group.

I'm getting deja vu reading this thread lol. But yeah this fight reminds of 2.0's launch all over again when Titan HM was a pretty hard fight for people getting their relics. I joined a handful of df parties to get a grip of things and tried two party finders with no luck. Like hard mode at launch, if you can get a party together where everyone knows what to do, it's not too bad. I've seen a lot of people get jaded trying to beat him in party finder over and over. Not much forgiveness in that fight -- if one player's off it's hard to carry them. Try and get your FC together and practice. I got mine together and we beat him after a few tries.

I have about 5 weapons so for me "Tank" is not a difficult fight, i'm normally on ADS duty but still easier to tank than Garuda Ex. I'll say that I have join groups that claim to be "EXP", "Clear ONLY" and still fail, so my suggestion to you is that DO join one of those groups if you feel strongly confident on what your doing, and at least not die to plums. there are a few groups that will test your clear by queuing for Ifrit EX, but is not too common compare to the EXP/Clear only PF titles.

Only because people still don't have a clue on how to handle the sisters, even 4 month after release. I gave up doing the first 2 Ex a long while ago

Lag has been the biggest hurdle for me. Even with WTFast I get 800+ ms pings during peak hours (servers most taxed). Off-hours I can dodge fine and I've gotten to super bombs so I know the rotation. My problem is that I can only run it when no one is online, so I have to pray the DF gets me a win at 2 -3am when I don't suffer from lag.
