The best action MMO I've played is actually Tera which has a strict Trinity. Games without clearly defined roles turn into clusterf*cks. The best example of that is Guild Wars 2 where you'll have 40 people soloing a boss.
Personally, I would queue up more for random things if it counted toward my lion mount. I know it's dumb, but if I could get credit for low level duties or low level dungeons, I would queue more for things I do not need. The Lion/Bear mount was done wrong. Coil and extremes are just a headache, and when you've already done them hundreds of times (and didn't get credit), it's just not worth it.
ok ill spell this out for you.
EVERY SINGLE MMO WITH A QUEUE SYSTEM HAS LONG DPS QUEUE TIMES.
why you ask? because 80% of the playerbase plays dps exclusively.
Square has allready done a whole lot to entice people to play other roles, and really cant do anything more about it.
I have WAR at 50 and PLD at 37, but for the most part I only tank for members of my FC. That way I don't have to deal with rude people, and I'm not automatically expected to do speed runs. Even in low level dungeons, people are in such a hurry. I'm in the minority of players that don't like speed runs.
In my opinion the best MMOs have the trinity. Outdated or not doesn't change the fact that it works, and works well. DPS queues are the only problem and that's because players don't take it upon themselves to do the tougher job.
Not a tank but as BLM not a fan of speed runs either, just feels like I'm a robot on autopilotI have WAR at 50 and PLD at 37, but for the most part I only tank for members of my FC. Not true. If doing level 50 dungeons or below counted towards lion and bear mount I would have leveled both my tanks to 50 and grinded them out. I wouldn't have cared how many it took. Even if I had to do 10k or 20k dungeons. I know I'm not alone in that sentiment either.
Players choose DPS over Tank, that's player's issue, not SE. OP, think straight.
