    Out of the box thinking incoming!

    We have more DPS queuing than tanks or healers.

    How do we get more players in per run, without changing current party dynamics...

    Player controlled bosses!

    Typical dungeon has ~3 bosses.

    Have a different player control each boss.

    Now 3 more DPS get in per dungeon.

    --
    But wait! player controlled bosses would just focus down healers first!

    Not if only the player with the highest enmity could be hit/targeted.

    People could just go easy on people and let them win!
    This is true, but, reward the boss-player for how long he survives, and how many kills he gets.
    Also, since duty finder is already cross server, make sure that boss players are never from the same server as the party members.

    But this would make content more random as boss players would not have a set attack rotation, only cool downs on abilities.
    Yup, sounds pretty cool huh?

    Yeah, but what about the player for the final boss, he has to just sit and wait until the player gets there before he can do anything.

    But, If he does, he gets the same exp and gil as a dungeon runner, plus a token for random loots to be announced by someone else!

    first boss - bronze token, 1/3 total exp/gil reward.
    2nd boss - silver token, 2/3
    final - gold token, full reward/

    While this would be a pretty freaking sweet form of PvP I don't think it'd be particularly useful for dungeons, mostly because it'd require the three DPS controlling the bosses to wait around until the party got to them, which could mean wait-times of up to an hour and a half if the party you're facing is struggling and you drew final boss.

    As a Dragoon on Excalibur, I usually only have to wait 5 minutes or less. I guess maybe other data centers have it bad.

    Anything, really. High level roulette, Expert Roulette, or any of the level 50 dungeons outside of roulette.

    The Lion mount would have worked but the only way you can get it is if you're lvl 50 and do endgame things. Which doesn't encourage people to actually level a tank. What would have been better would be if they had said you needed to do ten of each dungeon in the game. Then tanks of all levels would have flooded the duty finder to get their mount.

    This is just a supply and demand issue. You have abundant of supply of DPS with not enough demand for them. Think of yourself as a manufacturing plant that can supply 3 kinds of products: tank, healer and DPS. You know the demand for DPS is low, but for whatever reasons (they can be legit reasons, nothing is right or wrong here. You might like to play DPS, you might like a certain gear and how they look) you still want to enter the market and become a manufacturer for DPS. In this case, you will need to know that unless your product has a perk and can supply a niche market (extremely good player, in a good FC, well geared), then you should expect your product will be on the shelf longer than higher demanded commodities.

    By asking the developers for help to change this, you are basically asking the government to intervene. In that sense, there are a lot more to consider as you are trying to shift the equilibrium.
