    RNG is ruining this game (ATMA QQ post)

    The current state of grinding ATMA is ridiculous and not fun at all.

    I have read through a few threads, and the general counter argument seems to be 1 of 2 responses.

    #1 Its supposed to be hard / time consuming, you shouldn't just be given a relic weapon right?

    The reason this counterargument fails is that people don't hate the current system because it is difficult (time consuming). They hate it because it is unfair. RNG can make you feel like the quest is a breeze or troll you to oblivion, please have some compassion for the latter.

    #2 If you don't like the system, there are other things for you to do and other weapons to obtain, so go away.

    The reason this argument fails is the relic quest is a linear quest that spans across expansions. Sure the high allagan weapons are superior now, but completion of the quest line will be required by the next expansion, if we want to keep up with the story.

    In conclusion, give a better counterargument plz, or fix the ATMA quest.

    #3 Drops rates are sure to increase in 2.25 or most likely 2.3. Want it now? I suppose you just have to deal with the drops rates, or get some of the other gear while you wait for the drop rates to be increase ( which is almost a certainty to happen considering old content gets "easier", this is no different.

    Edit: When they do up the Drop rate and people start getting their weapons faster you be hearing things like ( Zodiac Weapons easy to get, make it harder) The cycle is never ending:

    1) Too easy ( 2.1)
    2) Too hard or long (2.2)
    3) Too easy ( 2.3)
    4) Too hard or long ( 2.4)

    This trend won't stop unless the community picks a dang side and sticks with it :/.

    I think RNG is what makes an mmorpg fun. Running dungeons loads of times to get that one drop you want so much is so much fun. There should be more things like rare spawns with low drop rate vanity items and stuff. So no I don't think RNG ruins the game it makes it exciting.

    It might not be. The moment of excitement when you finally get that rare drop you were looking for in an MMORPG is one of the best feelings you can get while playing... but it also comes with a lot of frustration and irritation along the way, so that emotional joy might just be relief

    They would have to release new content once a week.

    Some people want to do all the content in a week and then complain they don't have anything to do
    I want to do all the content for several months and hope the new content isn't release too soon so that I have time enough to do everything I want to do

    When you implement random chance into a very low % drop, and then multiply it by 12...the people getting screwed are going to be getting very, very very, very very screwed.

    My complaint with the system is not that it takes too long or is mindless and boring...I hate it because it is unfair. Surely there is a more fair way to make the quest take months, rather than just making it take months for those with bad dice.

    I'm the exact opposite. I hate it because its mindless and boring. RNG in Leviathan is okay with me but for Fates it's zzzzz.

    It seems that many in these forums don't actually understand the definition of "unfair". So much complaining that things aren't "fair". Let me just help you out with the definition of "fair".

    In the context of Atma farming, the RNG is absolutely "fair". Just because a random number is generated faster for one person than another based upon an impartial code, that does not make the process unfair. So, please, don't ask for a fairer system. It wouldn't help. If you'd prefer to do 50 fates per week for three months, instead, ask for that. However, this throwing around of the word "fair" in these forums is ridiculous. It's become synonymous with "I want my stuff faster and to be attained more easily."

    Anyone who shows off something attained by luck or chance is an idiot, and most people who have good RNG luck aren't self-inflated and don't show off and are instead just happy/relieved they attained what they were working toward, so relying on that argument is also ridiculous. And it makes you look like someone who can't have a point of view without insulting people he/she doesn't know, which doesn't really help your case in the slightest.

    The problem is the SE RNG, as gatherers and crafters have already experienced the distribution is very uneven, which makes it with such low drop rates so much worse and unfair.
    I don't mind the grind, but I want to see some kind progress, but all I see is hours wasted on this crap.
