Which world?

Just started playing with my ps 4 and I live on the east coast. I was wondering which world I should play on???

There are only two physical locations for the servers - the Japan server group based at Square Enix HQ in Tokyo Japan, and the American/European server group based at Eidos in Montreal, Canada. There are no regional restrictions to which server you choose, so it basically comes down to how close you are to a certain server group. Being in the US, I guess it's best to pick any of the NA servers. But ultimately it's up to you.

Other than what Enkidoh said about the server group, the world is really up to you. There are 3 main distinctions between the worlds: Legacy, ARR, and New. Legacy has all the players from 1.0. The New servers are brand new (like 1 week old). If you want a brand new world go for one of the new worlds. I think there are also a few servers that are more into RP than others, if you are interested in that. Otherwise the servers will have generally the same mix of people.
I'm partial to Malboro, but that's just me.

Reporting in from Balmung! Balmung is the unofficial RP server. I started here fresh, but there is a pleasant 1.0 community as well. I find that, even if you are not into the RP scene, all the extra bits of chitter chatter make for a super robust world. I enjoy it. X)

As for which server is best for the east coast, you should be fine choosing any of the NA servers. They don't break down into east or west, just good ol' North America. If you're not sure, you could try poking around the World forum, sample the crowd, or maybe create temporary characters in separate worlds to do the same. Good luck!~ ^ u^

Greeting from Coeurl Legacy Wolfwood here and I would like to extend an invitation to our world ^^ you can even join my FC .:Sleeping Forest:. lol Our server seems active during all the good hrs of the EST but it is an older server so the economy and player base is older than the new servers. My FC is comprised of mostly East Coast Players, but we are more casual and helpful. Not fully endgame due to everyones lives. In any case, check out the world forums and see what excites you. Hm... I wonder why nobody listed the new servers, well, yes, they did, but not with names. Please, visit the following thread, It is vital to choose well your server when starting new, and it is vital to start in a new server, a fresh one that has no more than 1 week life. So you'll enjoy it more, seeing that the rest is starting too.
