I'd love to see the break down of how you get 500 myth a day from doing roulette.
Brayfox is 300+ myth an hour. Nothing else comes close. Between real life and the rest of the game most people want to grind efficiently.
There are many roulette available to us now. Here's the breakdown.
Expert Roulette: Bonus of 25 Sold. Dungeon gives 50 Myth and 45 Sold. Total of 50 Myth and 70 Sold.
High Level Roulette: Bonus of 50 Myth. Dungeon gives 50 Myth and 20 Sold. Total of 100 Myth and 20 Sold.
Low Level Roulette: Bonus of 60 Myth. Total of 60 Myth.
Story Roulette: Bonus of 80 Myth. Dungeon gives 20 Myth. Total of 100 Myth.
Trials Roulette: Bonus of 40 Myth and 10 Sold. Trial gives 10-15 Myth and 1-5 Sold. Total of 50-55 Myth and 10-15 Sold.
Total Myth: 360-365.
So... I seem to have overestimated with the whole 1500/3 days argument. So it's 4 days of roulettes and an odd job to get to 1500. But hey, you can just take 30 minutes each day and do a CT run. Boom, nearly 500 that day. And, you know, I don't want to die inside every time a queue pops. Fancy that. The best kind of grinding is the grinding that manages to be fun, and it honestly baffles me how so many people zero in on the least fun way to grind things every single time.
This is extremely optimistic. Very few people run CT anymore aside from fresh level 50 alt jobs or new players, so on top of the horrendously long queues for DPS (and sometimes even healers) the run almost always takes longer than 30 minutes because everyone is running around in i60-70 stuff.
So yes, I could spend 20-40 minutes waiting in a queue for CT, and another 30-45 minutes in the instance, and come out with 100 myth, or I could take 25 minutes (extremely generous, since it only takes around 6-7 minutes per run and finding a group is easy since everyone is doing it) doing three Brayflox runs and come out with more than that.
Grinding Brayflox might get old after a while but it beats sitting around doing, uh, nothing, for 40 minutes. And if I limit myself to 4-5 runs at a time I don't even mind doing it.
You have a point there; I was assuming Tank queue times because I always do these things as a Tank.
This makes me want to never run with DRGs. I often clear with BLM/BLM and tend to pull between 5:40-6:00 runs. 2 minutes may seem low, but with the amount of runs needed - it all adds up fast.I'm a DRG and most of the time I get into a Party with a BLM and on a very good run we can clear both bosses in 8-9 minutes, with me and a BRD it's mostly 9-10 minutes, hell I was even in a DRG/DRG Party and we still cleared it within 10 minutes! People in PF who just choose to segregate other classes over a BRD or BLM piss me off.
The fastest run I've done as a blm was with a bard. We killed the boss with 84:50 on the timer. The trick is to save raging strikes and foe for triple flares on the mob pulls. RS used on the bosses will slow the run down.
Elitist detected.
Adding to what Donjo said in her post though, yes, it's far easier to do the roulettes and the beast dailies for all the myths. The beast dailies (assuming you're doing the rank 2 and rank 3 ones) can get you at least 30 myths on their own, and you have to remember, this isn't including the MANDATORY level 50 dungeon you'll have to do to finish the atma book, meaning you already have at least a 40 myth head start on the next one.
Usually to max my time/myth gather, I do all dailies first on my PLD(or whatever the current adventurer in need is). I like to get all the bonuses out of the way. It may seem to take a little longer but for me it works out. Then after I'm done with that I check PF to see if any bray farms are up and slide in to grind to cap. About two hours of work and I'm capped.
Then I have to decide to gear up low ilvl jobs or make 600k off myth items lol. Usually split it up fiddy/fiddy.
I have done this with my DRG, BRD, and BLM as dps. By far my BLM is the fastest when paired with either another BLM or BRD, DRG still gets it done though. As PLD, I don't care. Just kill em quick.
Just my 2gil.

I agree. I seldom run CT now, but when I did it frequently, the average run was about 1 hour, not counting the wait time. And I ran it many many times until I had the weekly loot. If you are unlucky it may take more time, if you're lucky somewhat less, but 30 min is too quick, I think. This is extremely optimistic. Very few people run CT anymore aside from fresh level 50 alt jobs or new players, so on top of the horrendously long queues for DPS (and sometimes even healers) the run almost always takes longer than 30 minutes because everyone is running around in i60-70 stuff.
I agree. Each player is different. Some want to do the most efficient/quick grinding, some like to add some variety, some want the tomes ASAP, some take it easier. Some don't want to throw a soldiery tome to the floor ever an don't do the high level roulette when they have capped soldiery tomes, etc.
If you like to grind via roulettes, I'd do the ones you like from the start of the week, and not wait until you have capped your soldiery tomes, you'll benefit more days from the non-expert roulettes bonus, and you'll throw less soldiery tomes to the floor.
