I quit in 2.0 and came back now... Teach me about this stuff please? D: Daily dungeons right? I normally only see a total of about 90 myth to be earned from that a day.. I think I'm missing something though. o:
I've done these speed runs with all classes of DPS, but I'm guessing people want them to be extra speedy so they ask for bards/black mages because of the fact they can both do great AOE such as Flare, Fire II, Blizzard II, Cross Hatch, Rain of Death, etc combined with skills like Raging Strikes which increases damage by 20%.
Plus, the bard can sing Foe's that makes the enemies more susceptible to the black mage's elemental attacks.
There are many roulette available to us now. Here's the breakdown.
Expert Roulette: Bonus of 25 Sold. Dungeon gives 50 Myth and 45 Sold. Total of 50 Myth and 70 Sold.
High Level Roulette: Bonus of 50 Myth. Dungeon gives 50 Myth and 20 Sold. Total of 100 Myth and 20 Sold.
Low Level Roulette: Bonus of 60 Myth. Total of 60 Myth.
Story Roulette: Bonus of 80 Myth. Dungeon gives 20 Myth. Total of 100 Myth.
Trials Roulette: Bonus of 40 Myth and 10 Sold. Trial gives 10-15 Myth and 1-5 Sold. Total of 50-55 Myth and 10-15 Sold.
Total Myth: 360-365.
So... I seem to have overestimated with the whole 1500/3 days argument. So it's 4 days of roulettes and an odd job to get to 1500. But hey, you can just take 30 minutes each day and do a CT run. Boom, nearly 500 that day. And, you know, I don't want to die inside every time a queue pops. Fancy that. The best kind of grinding is the grinding that manages to be fun, and it honestly baffles me how so many people zero in on the least fun way to grind things every single time.
This is extremely optimistic. Very few people run CT anymore aside from fresh level 50 alt jobs or new players, so on top of the horrendously long queues for DPS (and sometimes even healers) the run almost always takes longer than 30 minutes because everyone is running around in i60-70 stuff.
So yes, I could spend 20-40 minutes waiting in a queue for CT, and another 30-45 minutes in the instance, and come out with 100 myth, or I could take 25 minutes (extremely generous, since it only takes around 6-7 minutes per run and finding a group is easy since everyone is doing it) doing three Brayflox runs and come out with more than that.
Grinding Brayflox might get old after a while but it beats sitting around doing, uh, nothing, for 40 minutes. And if I limit myself to 4-5 runs at a time I don't even mind doing it.
I agree. I seldom run CT now, but when I did it frequently, the average run was about 1 hour, not counting the wait time. And I ran it many many times until I had the weekly loot. If you are unlucky it may take more time, if you're lucky somewhat less, but 30 min is too quick, I think. This is extremely optimistic. I agree. Each player is different. Some want to do the most efficient/quick grinding, some like to add some variety, some want the tomes ASAP, some take it easier. Some don't want to throw a soldiery tome to the floor ever an don't do the high level roulette when they have capped soldiery tomes, etc.
If you like to grind via roulettes, I'd do the ones you like from the start of the week, and not wait until you have capped your soldiery tomes, you'll benefit more days from the non-expert roulettes bonus, and you'll throw less soldiery tomes to the floor.

Well, there is actually no point to doing the Expert roulette when capped on Soldiery tomewise. Getting 6k gil by queueing as an adventurer in need, however... that's always okay. Any day I'm not soldiery capped, I do both the Expert and Trial roulettes to get between 80-90 Soldiery, 100 or so Myth, and 12k gil for less than an hour of work. Of course, such methods require having a Tank and Healer geared enough to do everything, as neither of those roulettes are fond of calling for DPS.
