    SEN (PSN) PS4 version vs PS3 price policy

    Facts: (Standard edition)
    1) PS3 version of FF14ARR costs 750 RUB (Russian rubles) ~21 USD
    2) PS4 version of FF14ARR costs 1399 RUB ~38.9 USD

    Question:
    Can I just buy it for my nonexistent PS3 and "upgrade" it to PS4 version?

    Just because I'm skimpy.
    I doubt it. The PS3 -> PS4 upgrade probably only included any PS3 accounts that were active before the release date of the PS4 version.

    just looked up in Australia game costs (ps4)$59.95 and (ps3)$49.28 thats from a store and for digital download (ps3)$29.95 - (ps4)$47.95 games cost so much over here even if there digital download

    I'm going to take a wild stab in the dark here and probably say it's because of the age of the console it's on - the PS3 is in the advanced stages of it's supported life so games being sold on it are usually much cheaper than they used to be. However the PS4 was only recently released - Sony are trying to make their money back on the development and production of it, hence new games are much more expensive as the console is 'new'.

    Not to mention there are much fewer people with PS4s at the moment than there are people with PS3s - it's the whole 'supply and demand' thing.

    Got my FFXIV CE for PS3 for 90 SEK (Swedish Kronor) about $15, a few weeks before PS4 release, upgraded to PS4 last friday and got all CE items for PS3/PS4, not to mention 30 days of playtime.

    Damn good deal if you ask me

    Game UK are selling the PS4 one online for £26.99 ($45.12)
    Amazon UK are selling the PS4 one online for £25.00 ($41.80)

    So it looks like you have the better pricing for your distributor.

    If you own both a PS3 and PS4, I think you can buy PS3 and upgrade it. But you have to log in on the PS3 once before you can upgrade it.
