I can play more songs from the FFXIV soundtrack on piano than I can FFXI soundtrack, which I assume means that I like the FFXIV soundtrack more.

The difference is that in FFXI the game encouraged you to explore. There were missions, quests, a huge number of NMs (and even sometimes stuff like fishing) which took you to new and remote places with amazing sights to see. Bearclaw Pinnacle was no exception, I remember the game actually does bring you there at one point. I was a huge explorer in FFXI, Vana'diel was the most beautiful, fleshed out game world I've ever seen. But actually a majority of the amazing things I saw in Vana'diel were things I saw while doing something with a more grandiose purpose, which made them that much more memorable as opposed to stumbling upon stuff by randomly walking in an arbitrary direction.@ allex
that is a pitiful excuse.
sorry but i didn't need a reason to go to any place in ffxi. Me and my boyfriend just loved to explore.
There are places in ffxi that had no reason. Like bearclaw pinnical. I went there cuz someone said it has a pretty sunset. So me and my b/f treked their.
Honestly there are area like this in ffxiv. Just go explore. You never need a reason to do so. Saying you do is just a bad excuse. I saw alot of stuff just out of curiousity.
Try a new fad in mmo called talking to people. you might actually find out places. What happen to the mmo community? no one plays mmo anymore they just care too much about content, and that lame carrot. No one talks in this game really only if your in a active guild. I need to near;y every server. Playing in every city. Getting a hello from people is like pulling teeth.
A community is what this game really needs.
If I've only got so much time to play, I'd like to be able to see the sights and progress my character at the same time. Most importantly, I'd like to feel as though I am being pushed out into the world and that everything I see along the way will be a part of a larger, cohesive story; an adventure. The most memorable moments of a truly epic story. FFXI accomplished this with flying colors. FFXIV obviously does not, at least not yet.
By the way, Alexia is actually one of the most talkative and encouraging people I know in the game ^^

It's normal comparing FFXIV with FFXI, but It's necessary taking into account that FFXI has had a lot of time to grow and become a masterpiece. I think that a lot of time has been spent JUST to fix the game (balancing it, new battle system, ecc.) and so now it's not a surprise that we have few contents. Now I hope that for October-November 2011 the game will be ready for new contents and maybe an expansion.![]()
Well even with all there copyed landscape I think there gonna overlay all the stuff that were seeking, trees, grass, buildings and pretty much anything.
FFXIV already has better stuffhttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iesY1...layer_embedded

This video was posted in another thread but it's sad to see that a 7 year old game has more life, realism, and sense of adventure than FF14.
This is what we need~

Just no.
Revamping the entirety of FFXI would take far, FAR more time for what isn't likely to be a great return than just making a new game or better yet, making FFXIV good.
FFXI has SO many redundant assets that would have to be redone.
; ; almost wanna cry...makes me homesick watching that first video.
I used to be Noomy...then i took shiva's Hail Storm to my knee...
