    Every class should have a DPS job and an "other" job

    Just a wandering thought, but this could be an option for all DPS out there.

    DPS is the most commong role, so queuing if boringly long.
    I recently started playing SMN and to go faster, I always go in roulette as a SCH.

    If every class has acces to one tank or one healer, besides the DPS, everyone will have the option of going for a faster time in roulette. That's not a solution for endgame content, but for Xp purpose, it'll be much much faster.

    If a fourth role is introduced, I think it will be on par or lower than the required number of healers or tank (Like one buffer in 8-man content).

    This support role could follow the same rule. So each class will have one DPS job and one job between tank/healer/support.

    Icing on the cake, it would be interesting to various tanks and healers for different gameplay type

    I think they just need to add another tank and healer before they give us more dps. Im much more concerned about what the 2nd job for every class will be and if we will have to gimp one of those jobs if we level both (like SCH and SMN now), assuming they will go this route of course..

    I think the same idea had been implemented on the character itself as every character could be tank/dps/healer without any tradeoff.

    They will give us more DPS along the way.
    But the problem is : They give us one or two more DPS classes that evolves into DPS jobs. Since roulette is a great way for Xp, these DPS register every day and suffer real long time waiting for a healer, tank (or support) to join. If each class have a tank or a healer job, they'll have far less time to wait.
    Some people will still play only DPS cause they really hate other roles, but some players will take this opportunity to gain Xp faster.

    I don't know. I'd kind of like to see a class that has a healing job and a tanking job. I know it's not very feasible due to everyone then leveling that one class to fill both those roles and potentially hurting the low level players in the long run but I think mechanically it'd be fun!

    In all honesty, I think SE dropped the ball on the job selection for day 1. They should have done 3 Tanks, 3 healer, and 3 DPS.

    While I love MNK, I think we should have skipped for now the MNK and SUM for another tank and healer jobs.

    You are going to be VERY disappointed. The game seems to be, by design, to NOT let people play multiple jobs on the same class and NOT have all other jobs gimped. This means that each class could have up to 6 jobs! But more like 5.

    I think they will go with the SCH/SMN road.
    that's what those Hymns are for, that you buy with GC seals.
    You can specialize in 1 path, but not both/all.
    Going all INT for SMN, isn't going to totally gimp your sch though.
    So let's say they add another job to LNC, i'd guess it would be a dex based parry tank. Because if they made it str, there would be no trade-off between stats.
    And Gridania doesn't have any tank class/job.
    Otherwise i'd guess at a dex based ranged class...but there's already archer.
    Maybe eventually every class will be able to be any role...

    Yeah they probably will. I used to heal with my SCH with 30int and i didn't even notice. Even now at 20int/10mind my SMN dps still seems fine. None of the numbers seemed off at all when i switched. Another guy in my FC went from a SCH main to starting to use SMN for our static and when he switched 20MIND to 20INT he also only saw a 30-50hp heal difference on his SCH which was +i90. (I feel like the weapon stats are the primary thing that matters for the most part in terms of DMG numbers as well as healing) On paper it sounds bad but its not as horrible as many make it seem....at least until theres new jobs for GLD and MRD or new tanking jobs on DPS classes as the VIT increase from the stat allocation could be arguably useful. Still its not enough to really hinder anyone too much from still having fun and playing roles efficiently

    Agree. I mean its going to be silly for high end content but if you are Randoming into High end content you deserve what you get.
