    Ps4 or not

Wellll I have the option of buying a ps4..but even though I do want one I kinda dont wanna spend so much money @_@ I mean I do well on ps3 but I could use the upgrade in specs to better my gameplay. And I am looking forward to what will come on ps4 but..idk.

Anyone with a ps4, can you sweet talk me on how amazing it is?

After playing on ps4, i dont think i will touch my ps3 again. at least not for this game... Its that much of a difference. The lag is gone, the graphichs amazing, and the loading time almost zero <3

Having played on a high end desktop, PS3 and now PS4 I can honestly say PS4 is very comparable to the desktop experience and is leaps and bounds better than the PS3 version in every way.

Performance is solid on PS4, and the graphics look good. It has a lot of little things that I like. I like how my controller makes a little noise when my que pops for instance.

What about that ATMA grind? I did some of it using remote play on my Vita while I watched TV, not saying you need a Vita to get the most of it but like I said the little things.

I think you would do yourself a favor by making the leap if possible. PS3 version is horrendous in comparison and if you have a way to ditch it do so when ever possible.

Like Alish, I've played it on my PC, PS3, and PS4. The difference between the PS3 and the PS4 is night and day. Like whats already been said; Graphics are amazing, response time is noticeable, and when I was farming T4 last night, I was always the first one to finish loading. I also use my VITA to remote play and craft/gather lol. It's a huge leap, I can safely say I won't touch the PS3's version anymore, but I still prefer my PC.

I am liking the answers, I do damn well on ps3 in terms of dodging and such but even on Titan Hm it starts to show when I die on his puddles eve just by a few seconds. I know I could spend such money and upgrade my comp but I prefer playing games on console more so just upgrading my pc to play one game seems kinda..redundant to me since I do all my stuff on ps3.

The PS4 version is not even comparable to the PS3 version imo, the difference is that big. Content is so much easier when it runs smoothly, dodging for example. I'm always in the top 4 for loading into dungeons if not the first. Even before XIV beta when I was playing other PS4 games I sold my PS3 just because it was so far behind in terms of graphics and performance! PS4 is a definite must if you like console gaming, play XIV on PS3 already and of course have the money! It's almost worth it just for XIV but theres that big price tag at the moment.

    Is it really worth it?

They are very similar and very different.
I've never experienced lag on my PS3, I've never encountered massive issues with dodging.
(My PS3 only had FFXIV installed and had <200MB storage and whirred like a beast #serverissues)

The main difference is the graphics.

Everything renders better, everything is so much smoother and more responsive. The way the game should be displayed!

    As for functionality, no different.
It's the same as the PC version.

The best feature is probably the Vita remote play, but you'd have to own/buy a Vita! £££!

Sorry for hogging your thread but I just wanted to ask, did anyone with a SSDed PS3 tried the PS4? How different was it? I'm doing pretty well now on PS3 with SSD so I'm not too tempted to go PS4 unless someone explicitly says that yes, it is way better than SSDed

It's still way, way better, purely for the graphics and smoothness of the effects and textures alone. A friend of mine has an SSD'd PS3 and still had to have all of the Party skill animations turned off as it would still cause him framerate issues. On PS4 it all runs smoothly even with all of them on.

The first fight I did when I got mine was Titan XM, and it felt like I had a week and a half to dodge the plumes and landslides, it was that much smoother.

Seriously, do it. You won't look back.

I had a SSD in my PS3 before I purchased a PS4 and moved the SSD to my computer. Way back in Beta 1 for PS4 ARR I used the stock 5400 RPM HDD and around beta 2 I had put in a 7200RPM HDD into my PS4. I feel like even with the 5400RPM HDD the PS4 version was a lot better in comparison to my PS3 with an SSD.

There really is no comparison, SSD PS3 vs Stock HDD PS4, the superiority of the PS4 version is still pretty dramatic.

While the PS3 version is definitely playable I simply can't ever picture myself coming close to remotely touching it ever again having used the PS4 client at least as far as consoles go, I still prefer to play this game on my PC but I will still play the PS4 version here and there. Its a great version and I feel like anyone who puts a good amount of time into this game would not be disappointed if they forked over the $400 for a PS4 to play it.
