This is also a repeat thread and Yoshi already said a long time ago he can't officially condone parsers because that would open the doors for other much worse 3rd party programs and because it's against the ToS. So again I say /thread.
And the problem with this comment is how few people have actually done the "hard" content in this game. How many groups have actually cleared T5? So while yes, this game is easy compared to some, even the end game content, players who are capable of clearing said content are a much smaller group.

I'm sure you're incredibly "skilled," what with needing third party programs to help you play a game that tells you exactly where to go and what to do, but there's really no need for most players to bother with parsers or anything else.
Maybe you should get a job above 27 and hit some fights with real DPS checks before you understate how useful they are. "There's really no need for most players to bother with parsers" doesn't explain why so many DPS utterly fail at both damage and survival.

Have it parse only your own damage then?
Good for self improvement and no one will be able to look at yours until you want to share it.

That wouldn't solve the issue of assessing and removing bad DPS. DPS players need to be held accountable for their performance too.

As I said before, T4 Dreadnaughts before echo required 200-220 from all DPS to clear successfully. If I go in there as DRG, I won't be able to pull that DPS because of my inexperience with the job. If I'm pulling 160 DPS and the Dread keeps eating the Phase 3 spiders, I'm the problem and a parser will tell me that I'm the problem for not being at the required threshhold.

I notice you don't yet have a level 50. Keep up with that mentality and entry level dungeons at 50 will not be kind to you, Especially Binding Coil (The first 5 turns), which is still difficult to do, even with the echo buff, if people aren't pulling their own weight

How would an official addon parser be an illegal 3rd party program, nevermind you don't care to read even the title of the thread.

You obviously blame WoW. An official self-parser adds nothing toxic to the community.

Which brings up the point of the toxic community. Party finder groups requiring ilvls that's overkill for whichever extreme fight or dungeon they're doing because they're so "pro" they want to be carried by higher gear than what's necessary, "clear checks" because the people that have done the content have no patience for other people to learn the content so they le gasp actually have more people they can do the content with. There's probably a few others I missed. If you think it's bad now imagine if parsers were legal.

If it were a self parser that's one thing. But that's not really what most of the people in this thread are begging for.

Also yes I do blame WoW. WoW has been the biggest plague of the mmo industry ever since its first expansion. Causing countless failed P2P mmos that tried to copy it too much without realizing the real reason for its success. The same way CoD has been a plague on non-mmos.

The problem with parsers and players and the argument of "just don't play with them" can be summed up in two words.

    Duty Finder

You can't pick who you play with in Duty Finder, especially if you're doing Roulettes (for now). I mean, it's bad enough when Roulette drops you in one of those 'one room' dungeon parties. You're all set to trounce the first boss after having swept the whole of the first room and suddenly loading screen out of nowhere. With parsers you could wind up seeing vote-to-kicks every 5 minutes because you're not performing 'to spec'. Heaven forbid you learned how to read the enmity meters and know when to pace yourself. No, this generation expects you to pour on the damage while using enmity-mitigation moves every time their recasts are up. I've seen people playing like that, they tended to steal hate alot. As many have said, including myself, parsers will ultimately promote caustic behavior and we don't need that.

It would be better if groups differentiated based on DPS rather than ilevel, because a good player with moderate ilevel (70+) can pull 250+ dps on any DPS class. Good players will be admitted to groups more readily with DPS requirements than ilevel requirements.

DPS is also what is important, not ilevel.

@the above post: most people won't kick you in duty finder for bad DPS. Party finder, yes, but duty finder, no - you take what you can get.

Also if a DPS is constantly taking threat from a tank, the tank is in 99% cases at fault. Tank enmity generation ability in this game is extremely high.

Since you cannot tell how skilled a player is, the only thing you can use is ilvl. And if they meet the ilvl but still can't cut it, you remove them. Also, you're right, some of them have no patience because they've already taught a large number of people, whether they actually learned or not, that they just want the content done. Why should they be required to constantly teach people, when a fair amount of them don't put in the effort to learn and improve? Key here is constantly. That's what they would end up having to do.

This is NOT "toxic"(Which isn't the right term to use anyway)
