Faster mounts

I do not think the game would be adversely affected in anyway by faster mounts. A permanent buff / trait that increases the speed 50%. Also make it very hard to obtain. Currently there is no real use for Gil, as usual, but a price tag of 5 million would not be too much in my mind.

In relation to this, I'd love for there to be faster mounts. However, maybe not just limited to a permanent buff, but also something like a temporary buff (like a longer lasting sprint).

Like maybe you could use say a gyshal green (sp?) to make your chocobos faster for two hours (about the cost to teleport or use the auto move feature).

Maybe raise the level limit of your chocobo companions and make a fourth "class" type: Sprinter. Each rank in that will increase the chocobo's movement speed both mounted and unmounted.

Or maybe even another main or sidequest that ends in a permanent buff to speed?

Even if they did, it just feels so odd.

In the cutscenes, Chocobos are really fast and so is a certain other mount you get. Then again, in the cutscenes, white mages/conjurers are the ones that get sacred soil, not arcanists.
