PS4 Controller multiple clicking

I'm experiencing multiple clicking on PS4, for example press X and it's like I pressed it 2 or 3 or 4 or 6 times. Same with directional buttons and in fact all buttons. I've only seen this since early access, not in either beta. And I'm not seeing it in other games so i don't think it's my controller. I'm getting a lot of lag, expected since it seems very crowded, perhaps it's related? I'm Lepton Leandros in NY on Sargatanas.

No one else seems to be reporting this, so I'll continue to suspect my hardware
