I guess I should have used sarcasm brackets on that statement? Apparently so.....
At the rate people undercut though, they are losing "potential" money by rushing for the quick sale.....
10 quick sales at 5k profit per sale vs 1 slow sales at 40k profit
I will take the 10 quick sales.

Uh.... not sure how that would be anything but common sense to make 50k over 40k?
You wouldnt price those 10 as a stack of 10 at 4k per if they were selling in singles at 5k per unless you were an idiot.
If they were selling steady at 5k per you could safely post em at 50k and get the sale in short order, esp if its an item that you need more than 1 of to do anything with in the first place or is a high demand item.
If things are selling at a steady pace at 40K, I'd gladly flip yours for 10x34K gain. That would be a great day for flipping. Go ahead undercut by an order of magnitude, I only need to sell one item to be back at break even and the next 9 is all profit. I'd take that gamble any day of the week.
This is THE attitude that OP and many others who complained about market board should have.If things are selling at a steady pace at 40K, I'd gladly flip yours for 10x34K gain. That would be a great day for flipping. Go ahead undercut by an order of magnitude, I only need to sell one item to be back at break even and the next 9 is all profit. I'd take that gamble any day of the week.
Sure, other people may sold their items first for lesser profit, but so what? You still make more in the long run.

They just need to implement the blind auction and small tax like in FFXI and this undercut battle would never happen.
Wait, Auction House? I thought it was a Market Ward which is akin Bazaar which surmounts to sitting on the sides of the street at a market selling items for w/e price you want. And dear God I pray they never do away with the Market Board because despite the fact it allows people to undercut each other and flood the market with xyz item of the week, do you have ANY idea how nightmarish it was to try to find items without it like in early to mid 1.0.
It happened all the time in FFXI too, and just like here in FFXIV anyone with enough cash (and there are/were plenty in both games) can and have realistically controled the market by buying them out and setting their own price.

The only fix I want is for the text search to be capable of searching any part of an item's name. I shouldn't have to type in Iron to find Iron Ingots. I should be able to type in Ingot and see all ingots.

The AH in Rift is about the best I've ever seen in an MMO.
Could even right click an item in inventory and it would search the AH for it if you had the window open at the time..... heaven for crafting.
I think folks are forgetting the meanings between auction house and market board. auction houses you have to BID on items to get them players set a least price they will take to sell it and players fight over the price they are wiling to pay to get it and highest bidder wins. in case of 11 if you bid over the price or the same p[rice as the seller you get it... markets boards folks put items up for prices they want and if you want it you pay that price you do. big difference .. so either you want a auction house or a market board.
